This helps increase their upgrades and allows them to charge for repairs directly. - This creates millions of tons of e-waste and precious resources being buried in garbage pits and creates a throw-away culture. - How are companies limiting this: - Keeping all documentation closed source - Not creating any replacement parts - Making devices difficult if not impossible to repair by glueing or soldering components together. - Utilizing proprietary screws and other methods of discouraging repair - Companies are trying to introduce legislation to keep shops from performing repairs.
