Deb Mason and Rebecca Crayford guest on The Business Show on Marlow FM 23rd February 2023

Deb Mason and Rebecca Crayford guest on The Business Show on Marlow FM 23rd February 2023

On The Business Show on Marlow FM on 23rd February 2023, my guests were the Queen of social media Deb Mason and lifestyle management expert Rebecca Crayford, who joined me to talk about their respective businesses, and to discuss a range of business news stories.

I started the show with the first of two songs with the word “Rockin” in the title – Neil Young, with “Rockin in the free world”.  You can se and hear the incredible live version from Glastonbury 2009 at https://youtu.be/fFw7q-BLxLA.  Trust me - when you think it’s finished, it isn’t.

Deb talked about her change in focus to be working for a medical devices company including the challenge of ensuring that her social media work reaches the two different target markets she has for the one product range, as well as her favourite word – smarketing.  You can connect with Deb at https://www.linkedin.com/in/deborahvmason-socialmediaconsultant/.

Rebecca then talked about RCLM, and what a lifestyle manager does, including how she starts to work with a client to slowly bring them on board.  You can find more at https://www.rebeccacrayford.co.uk/ and you can connect with her at https://www.linkedin.com/in/rebecca-crayford-76968025/.

Her music choice was Robbie Williams with “Love my life” because she loves her life!  Hear it at https://youtu.be/j4ggyO-OFXU.

The business news story chosen by Deb for us to discuss can be found at https://www.intelligentpeople.co.uk/employer-advice/marketing-trends-2023/ - where do we think marketing is going in 2023?

She then chose “It’s a kind of magic” by Queen, because the products she markets are a kind of magic, giving people a better quality of life.  Have a listen at https://youtu.be/0p_1QSUsbsM

Rebecca’s story for us was at https://www.forbes.com/sites/bernardmarr/2022/12/28/what-does-chatgpt-really-mean-for-businesses/?sh=d23e4677d1e3 – is ChatGPT a force for good, or for evil?

I started the show with a “rockin” song and I finished with one too – what else but “Rockin all over the world” from Status Quo.  I chose the love version of that one too, but it’s way short – hear the Live Aid version at https://youtu.be/eEO6v-YiS00.

You can connect with me at https://www.linkedin.com/in/enterprisedoctor/ and join our Facebook group at https://www.facebook.com/groups/enterprisedoctorbusinessshow/.

Checking In Anna w/ Neff Davis

Checking In Anna w/ Neff Davis

This episode features a conversation with the real Neff Davis, the hotel concierge who befriended Anna Delvey.

Neff was loyal to Anna throughout the turmoil of her arrest and trial, going so far as to create an Instagram account for Anna’s “trial style.” In this interview, she shares what her thought process was behind creating that account, what it’s been like being a part of the Shondaland production, and so much more.

Neff and Stacey discuss Neff’s experiences with the fake heiress by reflecting on specific scenes from the show. Neff is still in touch with Anna and she sets the record straight about the nature of their friendship. Finally, Neff shares about her own aspirations as an aspiring filmmaker and where her life is headed now.

Episode #50 How To Break Barriers To Success While Standing In Your True Value With Steve Sims

Episode #50 How To Break Barriers To Success While Standing In Your True Value With Steve Sims

Today’s guest has been called the real-life Wizard of Oz and has strived to live up to that reputation. Steve Sims is the founder of Bluefish, the world’s first luxury concierge service that provides top-notch entertainment, travel and transportation to celebrities, executives and entrepreneurs alike.

In addition to his work with Bluefish, Steve is also a coach, author and podcast host, among other things. His bottom line is helping fellow entrepreneurs get the most out of their business, while also providing the best service to his own clients.

Steve shares his business wisdom, which was set in place for him at a young age by his father. “No one drowns from falling in the water, they drown by staying there”, meaning if you stay in a state of failure, you will only continue to fail. If you’re drowning, you have to find a way out.

His advice for budding entrepreneurs is to forget about branding. If you focus on what you do, what you can solve for your clients and how you interact with them, they will do the branding for you. No matter what, always be transparent.

Stay true to who you are and don’t worry about what you look like, what car you drive or how nice your house is. The important thing is that your clients are happy.

Learn more about Steve by visiting his website or by picking up a copy of his book. Steve also hosts “The Art of Making Things Happen” podcast, where he interviews entrepreneurs from all walks of life. Interested in traveling the world or seeing your favorite performers? Mr and Mrs Claus: The couple behind the killer concierge app Elves (Ep 2)

Seeing the rapid growth of digital assistants, Abeer El Sisi and Karim El Sahy co-founded Elves in 2016, along with Ahmed Kassem. They looked at the deficiencies in current digital assistants and realized the human element was still needed. By efficiently connecting people with human assistants, Elves’ AI platform learns from these interactions and in turn becomes more efficient and better adept at connecting users with services.

In today’s episode, Abeer and Karim talk to us about the challenges of being a married couple with the lofty aim of creating the best AI-based digital concierge service provider there is. Today, Elves has over 650,000 users and is looking to close another seed round, after having broken Egypt’s seed funding record with USD 2 mn in 2017.
