A study in Jude concerning contending for the faith. Ungodly men creeping in with false doctrine. 

When we last left our old and dear friend, Peter, he was in Jerusalem, languishing in a Roman prison cell, awaiting what he thought was his certain execution.

As you will hear in this PODCAST, Peter had been held in that prison for up to eight long, arduous days—the week of Passover.

So to help you feel this story—if I may put it that way—I need you to think back to one week ago.

It was exactly one week ago when we—in Peter in HD Podcast #51—met the notorious-King Herod Agrippa.

And I need you to consider two compelling/colliding realities now coming into play as far as Peter’s state-of-mind-and-heart while in prison was concerned.

Revelation 2:1-7

This sermon marks the first part in a series looking at the letters to the seven Churches of Asia Minor. These seven epistles comprise less than 1% of the New Testament and yet are some of the most powerful words in the New Testament. We need not wait for the coming of the Lord Jesus to see how we fair; we have the Lord’s verdict already!! These seven epistles are applicable to the universal Church of Jesus Christ worldwide in every generation and it is imperative that we judge ourselves according to the words spoken to these Churches.

The Church in Ephesus had both a commendation and a rebuke from our Lord. Commended for their standing fast in the truth of God’s Word and contending against false teachers and self-professing Apostles; yet rebuked for their lack of love for Christ and His Church!! This sermon is an exhortation for believers to contend earnestly for the truth and purity of doctrine and a warning to not allow the love of Christ in our hearts to wax cold!! How are you faring in these two areas? May this sermon serve to challenge and motivate you dear Saints of God!!

Let's be honest...we all want more out of life!  What do you do when it seems that you're not getting it?  How do you handle it when you're placed in situations that cause discontent?  It's difficult to be content with undesirable circumstances.  How do you attain contentment while still contending for more?  In this episode, we discuss what contentment is, as well as how to find a balance between being okay with what you have and where you are, while striving to achieve more.

Paul shares a very passionate plea, calling believers in Christ to love one another.  In an age of apostasy where Christians are earnestly contending for the faith, it is very easy to give place to offence and allow the love of God to grow cold in your heart.  This message will stir and challenge your heart to rekindle your first love!!
