    So. Much. Unanimous.

    So. Much. Unanimous.

We couldn’t be more pleased with the unanimous votes for RoY and MVP.  Not so thrilled with the owners voting unanimously to send Oakland’s team to Vegas. Props to Gunnar for his sexy defense and leading all rookies in HRs, and to Corbin for being the first Diamondback to win RoY, and the first ever to win with 25HRs and 50SBs. Shohei’s second MVP win was a surprise to no one and Miggy’s enthusiasm for Ronald’s title led us down a “we’re not sure he should say that in front of children” path.  Still not sure, but we’re distracted by  Acuña’s immediate and remarkable LVBP debut moments after the announcement. Dusty has us re-evaluating Ron’s past as he takes over the LAAs. New Mets manager Carlos Mendoza thanks his wife for sacrificing her career for his. There are more than 60 new free agents as of Friday’s non-tender deadline, and one new one this week as Yoshinobu Yamamoto season kicks off. Fisher may have gotten his As move past the owners, but still has to contend with Nevada’s teachers and Oakland’s mayor. MLB picks markets over justice  as it hands the 2025 ASG back to ATL. No riding the coattails of the successful pitch clock – tinkering has already begun. The top 30 girls playing HS ball came together for the Breakthrough Series last weekend, and this week brings the 2nd All American Women's Baseball Classic.  Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!

    Airline Bottles on a Train

    Airline Bottles on a Train

Liam is our favorite Castellanos but Nick is a close second.  Pottymouth is rightfully preening over her pre-season pick of Corbin Carroll. Patti calls early dibs on Evan Carter for next season. There was so much more going on in  that 15 pitch at bat between Nathaniel Lowe and Dean Kremer than met the eye. Every single team in the final four has players we love to watch, so we dug deeper for our picks. Respect for Dusty aside, we are over Houston. The Rangers have an edge there if you can get past the whole Creed situation. We appreciate an underdog but ARI are scabs. We are pro-Phils for lead-off hitter Schwarber, Nats North, sneaky good hitting, and very specific heckling. And Liam. In the world outside the playoffs, the Giants interviewed Alyssa Nakken, the first woman to be an official candidate for an MLB manager position. Police blotter and international baseball collide, as Wander Franco may or may not play winter ball in the DR. Nelson Cruz has already committed to managing Team DR in the 2026 WBC so we are requesting leave now.

We say “There’s a Maryland state dinosaur?” “I met David Byrne in an elevator,” and “Peanuts are hard enough to get into a Japanese ballpark but we can get domestic abusers in there just fine.” Fight the man, send your game balls to Meredith, get boosted, and find us on Twitter @ncibpodcast, on Facebook @nocryinginbball, Instagram @nocryinginbball and on the Interweb at nocryinginbball.com. You're Stuck With Us

    You're Stuck With Us

It’s that part of the season where records are falling, injuries are career changing, and so many playoff berths are still in play. Corbin Carroll and Julio Rodriguez are knocking down milestones for the young folks, Freddie Freeman shows for the older crowd, and Ronald Acuña Jr. is in a category all his own. Joey Votto uses his French (or French accent?  We don’t know!) for the Children’s Theater of Cincinnati. Mark Vientos is heating up for the Hapless Mets at the same time Tommy Pham slams the team for their work ethic. Non-lawyer Pottymouth provides an intro to Immigration Law 101 in the context of Brusdar Graterol’s mother finally able to travel from Venezuela to see her son pitch for the first time in seven years. Patron saint of the show, Sean Doolittle, announced his retirement and remains a role model for using his celebrity to support and give voice to marginalized and under-represented communities. The St. Pete Rays announced a not-quite-but-close  agreement to stay in St. Pete, incorporating “intentional equity initiatives” including affordable housing, minority/women-owned business hiring commitments and a boatload of public funding. TIckets are on sale for  Dominican baseball at Citifield in November and the Eurobaseball Championship is happening  now  in the Czech Republic.

We say “Day drinking has never occurred to us before,” “Dictatorship is not in a good way,” and “sometimes an immigration lawyer makes her dinner.” Fight the man, send your game balls to Meredith, get boosted, and find us on Twitter @ncibpodcast, on Facebook @nocryinginbball, Instagram @nocryinginbball and on the Interweb at nocryinginbball.com. Every Time a Frog Chirps

Crosstraining with Games 7 provides the opportunity to revisit both grammar and the “gear algorithm.” Vocabulary lessons include “hamate excision,” “batter’s eye,” and “cheezstayk” (which Patti objects to on many  levels). Pottymouth’s trip to Philadelphia includes a great showing by Patti’s former bfs (Castellanos, Pache, and Marsh), an Aquaman sighting, and beer as souvenirs because it is always the right size. Yu Chang is about to obtain superpowers, Corbin Carroll has super speed, and LA has something super as there are a large number of Little Tiny Dodgers. Patti’s bfs Raleigh and Raley are not only alliterative, but also repetitive with the homers. Our Police Blotter includes suspicious edits, a pottymouth but not in a good way, and an opportunity to say “run it out.” Pottymouth is all about the Mexico series, especially swag bags, and the Padres and Giants spending time out in the community, but MLB expansion there is not likely.

We say “I wish there were more Pucker,” “zombie apocalypse,” and “he only wears his shirt unbuttoned one button but it feels like more.” Get boosted, fight the man, send your game balls to Meredith, and find us on Twitter @ncibpodcast, on Facebook @nocryinginbball, Instagram @nocryinginbball and on the Interweb at nocryinginbball.com. Women in High-A, So Much Red Sox, and Santa’s Butt

Women in High-A, So Much Red Sox, and Santa’s Butt

In this super-sized episode fueled by leftover holiday novelty beer, Pottymouth can’t stop talking Red Sox. For BOS bfs, Pottymouth picks good guy Rob Refsnyder and then fixes Patti up with shirtless pregamer Tristan Casas. Pottymouth’s Diamondbacks bf this season is possible ROY Corbin Carroll, while Patti selects Jake McCarthy for his periodic Gunnar-level qHAR. In the Police Blotter, Orioles owner John Angelos overshadows the team’s generous donation to Baltimore’s CollegeBound by lashing out at journalists for asking reasonable team ownership-related questions. There’s great news for women in baseball this week, as the Blue Jays appoint Ashley Stephenson as a coach for their High-A level team, and the Diamondbacks appoint Ronnie Gajownik as the general manager of their High A Hillsboro Hops, making her the first female general manager at the High-A level. We catch you up on winter ball playoffs and World Baseball Classic team additions.

We say “Lack of draft beer could be considered a crime in many situations,” “frickin’ Santa’s Butt,” and “Kiké is my shiny thing.” Get boosted, fight the man, send your game balls to Meredith, and find us on Twitter @ncibpodcast, on Facebook @nocryinginbball, Instagram @nocryinginbball and on the Interweb at nocryinginbball.com.
