Steven and Jeff speak with Awan Puryadi, one of the lawyers in involved in a class action suit on behalf of 25 families of victims who had drank cough syrup laced with industrial grade solvents that are lethal for humans.

The families are seeking billions in compensation from pharmaceutical companies, distributors and the government for allowing the mass poisoning. The Pak Awan says the families want the government to devote resources toward long term care for those suffering debilitating injuries including organ failure and paralysis, which are permanent and an apology.

The Haryana government has ordered to completely halt the production of cough syrups at Sonipat-based company Maiden Pharmaceuticals Limited. The development comes after the company was recently flagged by the World Health Organisation (WHO), in wake of the deaths of 66 children in The Gambia. 

The ongoing anti-government protests in Iran, which spread like wildfire following Mahsa Amini's death, is in its fourth week now.  In this episode we give you an overview on the recent developments.

While consuming too much NyQuil can be dangerous on its own, the agency also stated that simply heating up the medication can make it much more concentrated and change its properties in other ways. Sydney discusses the origins of the challenge and some potential reasons why TikTok users are participating. The team wonder why TikTok and other social media platforms don’t condemn or remove these videos sooner and whether participants have a low risk threshold or simply don’t understand the dangers associated with these types of challenges.
