Throwing it back, Ripon College made waves last year by besting Illinois College 23-21 during a Midwest Conference game. Not only did they rain on the Blueboys' Homecoming parade, but it also marked Ripon's inaugural win at Illinois College since 2009. Currently, Ripon holds the advantage in their historical match-ups, leading 16-10. This season, the tables have turned; the Blueboys will challenge us on our turf as we open our home game slate.

On This County Pulse Podcast episode, Jena Dudek Head Varsity Coach for BBCHS Swim and Dive Team.  Coach Dudek shares with us her thoughts on where BBCHS Swim and Dive are at during these uncertain times and the Swim and Dive Team's upcoming season. 

Coach Dudek takes the time to talk about her time as a simmer in both high school and college.  Jena also talks about the buildin blocks aof a great swimmer and what do up and coming swimmers should do to ensure that they are finding the sport they love. 

Thiele also talks about his time helping to lead the Raider to a State Championship in 2003.  Jason also speaks of his time as a wide receiver at Olivet Nazarene University for two years before he eventually enlisted in the military, where he served from 2007-15.

Coach Dudek also speaks about her favorite charity, American Cancer Society and why it is her selection and how people have been impacted in her life by cancer.

Listen to Zach Freeman his career and to Join us in our first Player spotlight to discuss Owen Freeman, the 6' 8" Sophomore at BBCHS. In addition during the episode we discuss Zach's basketball career from High School to All American at Olivet University. 

Zach discusses his son, Owen Freeman, who is 6’ 8” Sophomore who played on varsity last year as a Freshman where he averaged 11.3 points per game, with 7.6 rebounds and had shot an impressive 68.2% from the field for the Boilermakers. 

During the episode Zach discusses the impact of COVID-19 on making sure Owen continues to practice away from BB and his teammates as well as any emotional impact the pandemic may have had or had not on Owen and the Freeman household.  

The discussion gives insight into not only how raising a young athletes with the physical attributes, mental attributes as well as ensuring to keep Owen's dream of playing basketball at the next level.  Make sure you take the time to listen to this insightful discussion.

This County Pulse Podcast episode Andy Wheeler – Kankakee County Board Chairman will join us.  Andy discusses his history of growing up here in Kankakee, his previous work that brought him to his current position which is County Board member in District 15 and County Board Chairman.  Andy also speaks about not just changing the County fiscally which has been very impressive but working to changing the way people treat each other and how to work towards rebuilding a more cooperative and respectful culture for all Kankakee County Residents.  

Chairman Wheeler also discusses his goal as a person to work with Local Companies and Local Youth to provide them with the vision to see the opportunities beyond Kankakee County. His goal is to ensure that our young people have internships and opportunities with local companies and making sure the County and local municipalities provide the necessary tools to get accomplish those goals.  All the while giving them not jut the dream of a college education but giving them the building blocks to accomplish that goal.
