Constantin Vică este lector universitar la Facultatea de Filosofie din cadrul Universității București, unde ține cursuri legate de etica noilor tehnologii și coordonează programul de masterat în Etică Aplicată – cel în cadrul căruia sunt studentă. De asemenea, este cercetător în cadrul Centrului de Cercetare în Etică Aplicată (CCEA) și a publicat pe teme legate de responsabilitatea sistemelor de Inteligență Artificială, indignarea morală online, ameliorare cognitivă, politica datelor deschise, a pirateriei, despre roboți ca asistenți și companioni, proprietate intelectuală în era digitală, și multe altele. Recent a publicat cartea Civilizație Algoritmică și Viața în Lumea Digitală.

În această conversație ne vei auzi discutând despre motivele pentru care am ajuns să punem egal între etică și „a fi fraier”, cum (dacă?) poți avea impact în societate și contribui la schimbarea sistemului ca specialist în etică fără să intri în politică sau afaceri, ce skill-uri își poate dezvolta cineva la programul de Etică Aplicată și ce ar putea face mai departe cu aceste studii, ce cărți, filosofi sau gânditori ar recomanda ca introducere în filosofie, și multe alte subiecte pe care te las să le descoperi dând play la conversația noastră.

13 year old Cristina Pangalagan was left in a hot car in August in Colleton South Carolina for more than five hours, resulting in her death. Her mom, Rita, had been named 2014 Teacher of the Year in Walterboro’s Black Street Early Education Center. Rita said she went to her boyfriend Larry’s house and accidentally left Cristina in the car. Video obtained from Larry’s house, however, showed that they had taken Cristina in the house with them, then took her back out to the car and left her there for hours, even leaving the house in another car and returning home later.

Cristina was born with severe intellectual and physical disabilities that left her unable to verbally communicate, and she was confined to a wheelchair, leaving her unable to remove herself from the hot car.

Now Rita Pangalangan and her boyfriend Larry King will stand trial in Judge Clifton Newman’s courtroom for Cristina’s death.
