The former Eden Vale manager tells us his story, from not really playing football in school to joining Holy Ghost and later the great Melrose side. He Tells us about his time at Bootle FC and playing for Eden Vale where he eventually became manager and won an astonishing amount of silverwear in the time he was in charge which included the prestigious LCFA Premier Cup in 97/98. He tells us about his favourite games, goals and all about the lads he has played with, managed and came up against throughout those times. Phil was a driving force in the middle of the park for one of Bootles finest Sunday league teams Dickie Lewis’ also known as Seaburn and The Solly, winning countless league titles in the Crosby premier division. He was integral in the Liverpool County FA Premier Cup winning Seaburn side of 2005 which completed a momentus treble for the club. Phil played for a lot of local clubs at Semi pro level including Bootle, Maghull, Cammel Lairds & AFC Liverpool. He also turned his hand to a succesful managerial career starting out with Maghull and moving on to REMYCA United & Bootle with plenty of up and downs. He tells us his favourite goals, games and all about the lads he shared a pitch with and played against throughout those times.
