Do NOT Call Yourself A William Friedkin Fan Unless You've Seen "SORCERER"!
Friend of the podcast Eric Roach rejoins Jagbags to talk the films of the late William Friedkin, who recently passed away at the age of 87. We go through his movies, including "The French Connection", "The Exorcist", "To Live & Die in LA", "Cruising", and especially the unsung MASTERWORK "Sorcerer", starring Roy Scheider. Why did "Sorcerer" come and go without so much as a whimper at the box office? What made Friedkin's best work so compelling? Did the ends justify the means with Friedkin? What is his lasting legacy? We answer these questions, and many more. TUNE IN FOR FRIEDKIN!

    1980 (Part 2)

It's time for one of those massive episodes. Well, it's a four parter anyways. 1980 was massive for horror movies. As well as containing those auteur driven, massive studio movies, exploitation cinema was still in full flow, the underground was rich at this point in time . So what do I think was the very greatest horror movie that came out during '80? Well, here we have the top 10. The worst 10. A slew of also rans. Some awesome mates. Some special guests. Several pints of beer and a 7+ hour running time split over 4 episodes. This is the 1980, A Year In Horror.

It's a truly long journey this one, part 2 of 4 in fact. I am going to give you the time codes below so if you don't want spoilers then, please, avert your eyes.

Below are the timecodes for all the different segments and my guest links. Feel free to let me know where you think I got it wrong or right and of course stay safe out there & I'll see you next month.

Bonne semaine!

Should I Cancel My Trip To Europe?

Should I Cancel My Trip To Europe?

When Australia's international border finally reopened in November, many of us started immediately planning and booking that much longed for trip overseas, feeling relieved that we'd finally be able to see loved ones and the world once again.

But with the emergence of conflict in Ukraine, which is impacting many countries in Europe, airlines had to urgently start diverting planes away from the whole region, making your journey even more complicated.

The Quicky speaks to a travel expert, and one of our own colleagues who is concerned about her impending trip to Greece to find out whether it is still safe to plan a holiday, or if international travel is back off the agenda for the foreseeable future.

    Distil the Essence of Sailing

    Distil the Essence of Sailing

Distilling the essence of life at sea: It’s a love-hate relationship, a roller coaster. The journey becomes etched on our skin. Vibrant bruises match vivid sunsets. There are tremendous stresses on equipment as well as our bodies. We learn something new each day, about sailing and ourselves. Sailing the oceans isn’t easy, but offers magnificent rewards with perseverance. We whinge about the effort, but secretly we are glad, if it was easy, everyone would be doing it.
