Carlee Russell was the Alabama woman who faked her own kidnapping and is now facing a year in jail for her false report. Russell also has to pay $18,000 to the state of Alabama for money spent trying to find her. In the GED Section, D.L. talks about Congressman Jim Jordan failing to secure enough votes to be the Speaker of the House for a second time. This time he had two fewer votes than he did last time. Also, a man got his co-worker pregnant. The issue is he is getting married two months from now with his fiancé, that’s not his co-worker. His fiancé is still thinking about going through with the wedding. The man admitted he made a mistake and he’s apologetic. The Question of the Day is, should this last go through with this marriage. Young Thug is considered a menace to society, but why isn’t Donald Trump. On The Jazzy Report, Jasmine spoke about as of July 1, 2024 in the state of Illinois, parents are required to put 50% of any earnings from social media posts that includes their children in a trust for the children until they are eighteen. Oher claims that the Touhy family tricked him into a conservatorship and he made no money. On Thursday’s episode of The D.L. Hughley Show, there was a lot that D.L. had to talk about and made for a great show. Jasmine started us off talking about Florida Governor Ron DeSantis suspending Democratic prosecutor, Monique Worrell, because she did not align with his political vision. On The GED Report today, D.L. Hughley spoke about how people were just praying for Jamie Foxx, but he is not worthy enough for people’s grace. After coming back from the brink of death, Jamie Foxx on IG said “They killed this dude named Jesus…What do you think they’ll do to you #fakefriends.” Some people took that to be anti-semitic, which D.L. pointed out that had nothing to do with Jewish people, that is something our community has been saying for  years about their own peer group. The Question of the Day comes from a woman who has nine months to live. She asked her husband if she could have sex with her ex-boyfriend one last time before she passed away. On Monday, D.L. Hughley, Jasmine Sanders and the rest of the crew talk about the fight in Montgomery, AL on the Riverboat boardwalk. It all started because a black dock worker told some white patrons they had to move their boat and they began attacking the black dock worker. All of a sudden, black people came to the aid of the black dock worker and put a beating on all of the white aggressors there. On The GED Report, D.L. talks about Donald Trump being indicted, AGAIN, and how the right are now saying there is a two tier justice system. Of course there is, we have been trying to say that for years, but how does that apply to Donald Trump? Trump did what is said he has done. We all saw it. People, a lot of women, were giving him flack on social media because he canceled on the young lady with kids. They think that there are too many representations of other ethnicities and the LGBTQ+ community. On Monday, The D.L. Hughley Show Podcast started your week off right. On The GED Report, D.L. Hughley spoke about a story out of Chicago, where some police officers are speculated on having sex with underaged migrants of Chicago. One of the underage migrant workers is suspected to be pregnant. Because they are police officers and the victims are brown, D.L. feels that the media is not labeling what the police officers are, which are rapists. D.L. Hughley and Jasmine, along with the rest of the crew, spoke about the biases at the doctor office and in the surgery room with black people. One of the ways people want to mitigate those problems is for the doctors to wear cameras like police officers. While there are many scenarios where black people are mistreated in the healthcare industry, The D.L. Hughley Show thinks this could be a slippery slope. Rep. George Santos recently had an interview where he compared himself to civil rights leader Rosa Parks when speaking about his time as a representative being a member of the LGBTQ+ community.
