EP008 // The #1 Key to Changing Your Life // Burnt Out Mom

Momma, are you burnt out? overwhelmed? tired? exhausted? maybe sick?
I see you running from one thing to the next, not wanting to drop the ball fearing it will break.   How much are you going to break yourself until its too much?

I've been there.  I still am sometimes.
Let me tell you, there is only one finish line.
And its something that most of us don't like to think about.

You've made your way through big challenges before.
And you've gotten yourself into plenty of pickles.
The one consistent factor is you.

Not to blame and shame you. Nope, those are unhelpful.
    This is to empower you.
    YOU are the key.
    YOU hold the power.

    Lets do this.

Episode 3.9 - Know your Vulnerability

Episode 3.9 - Know your Vulnerability

Start-ups need to be strong-minded. Start-ups need to lead with confidence. Without such strength, how can a business expect to survive especially when times are tough?

But strength is also a weakness. Too much strength can blind start-ups and derail thinking. Too much strength can alienate others or turn them into ‘yes’ people.

In life and business, mistakes are inevitable. And we have all done things that have led to shame. So how do entrepreneurs embrace weaknesses, getting things wrong and feelings of shame? This fascinating episode explores the world of start-up vulnerability and seeks behavioural answers that will help entrepreneurs to connect more deeply with others and lead with greater confidence and ability. Ultimately, by understanding and embracing vulnerability anyone involved with startup will achieve greater results.

Keeping Your Inner Peace While Navigating Delicate Relationships

Keeping Your Inner Peace While Navigating Delicate Relationships

There’s no denying it, being a human in relationships is hard. Especially when you are around people who trigger you, have caused deep pain, or even trauma. Today’s episode centers around some paradigm shifts I’ve picked up to keep my inner peace while navigating delicate family interactions. Peace isn’t something that just magically happens, it’s something we must cultivate, and today, my aim is to put the power back in your hands so you can do just that.

It Gets Difficult Sometimes (A Journal Entry)

It Gets Difficult Sometimes (A Journal Entry)

As someone who intentionally engages with mental health issues, I have developed an unrealistic expectation for myself: to always be good. It often feels re-enforced by people who depend on me for one or other reason: "If you aren't good, what's going to happen to us?" When times of difficulty come, it feels like this should not be happening; like "I should know better". But the reality of things is that sometimes it gets difficult for all of us. In the midst of these emotions, I decided to journal. In this episode is that entry.

Enneagram Type 8 with Kelly Topping and Laurie Stephenson

Enneagram Type 8 with Kelly Topping and Laurie Stephenson

To explore Enneagram Type 8, we sit down again with photographer Kelly Topping, from our Dec 2019 Art Episode. She is joined by her best friend, Laurie Stephenson, who is also sister to Leah, our Enneagram Type 4. We learn more about Type 8s, with twice the impact, as both these women identify as this number.

Tips from Kelly and Laurie (Type 8s):
Enneagram 8s have a dislike and distrust of people behaving in "fake" manner. Underneath an exterior that can be intimidating, these types have a tender heart that desires honest and real connections. Also, if you put a straw in your movie theater popcorn bucket and pump the butter through it while slowly pulling it up to the top of the bucket, you can get butter on every level!!
Major Quotes: “Our thing is a battle of the mind, where we have to get in a good place to be successful, or we’ll become confrontational- with ourselves and with other people”.
How to show love to 8s:
Let them have their "moment". Let them vent. Love them in their vulnerability and honesty. Don’t tell them how they "should" feel or react at these times.
