Ep. 54 - Descendants of the Slave Holders and the Slaves
In segment one, Fisher's Family Histoire News covers the research results covering an 18th century boat found under the World Trade Center four years ago. You'll be amazed what researchers were able to learn about this 200 year old ship! Plus, the odds were ridiculous. Fisher visits with guest Chris Tomlinson about the first family history he ever wrote. (It just made the New York Times Bestsellers list!) "Tomlinson Hill" tracks Chris' ancestry back to his great great grandparents who were slave owners in Texas. He then followed the history of the "white Tomlinsons" as well as the "black Tomlinsons," descendants of the slaves his ancestors owned. Those descendants include football great Ladainian Tomlinson. He discusses the differences in the course of these families through the years and how this creates a broader view of race relations today.

Guest Gary Boyd Roberts, a colorful and renowned family history researcher and writer makes his first appearance on the show, talking about “Gateway Ancestors,” ancestors most of us have that have proven lines to royalty. Gary says there’s more than just “snob appeal” to have royal ancestors. He’ll explain the reason you should want to know. Gary also talks about the social mobility that makes it possible for descendants of kings to be American farmers in just a few generations. You won’t want to miss it!

DC47: Sound Explosion - Punk Rawk Hammer
McShanes was left to play with his own devices tonight. What does that mean? No that doesn't mean he was toching himself. That's a given. What it means is that he had some time and the atitude to produce Sound Explosion. This is going to be a more regular podcast on IPA. Look it up on iTunes and Stitcher. However it started here on Drunkards Call. You might hear our other podcasters like Micah Shaw, or Donny Fox take a stab at it but this is the begining.
