Barry Soper: political editor on Maori sheep and beef farmers getting taxpayer assistance to counteract emissions tax disadvantage

Maori sheep and beef farmers could receive taxpayer assistance to meet emissions targets.

Information has come to light that farmers of a Maori background may be at a disadvantage, as they have fewer assets and will be disproportionately impacted by emissions taxes.

Barry Soper, political editor, explained how the feedback generated from this study could impact the development of this emissions tax plan.

73 - How to Find Your First or Next 5 Clients as a Fitness Pro with Kelsey Reidl

73 - How to Find Your First or Next 5 Clients as a Fitness Pro with Kelsey Reidl

In this week’s episode, Jenny chats with marketing guru Kelsey Reidl about how to organically grow your business through experiential marketing and solution-based lead generation. Kelsey shares her journey of how she became a top-ranked business coach and gives us proven, easy to implement strategies that can be put into action immediately to start seeing results right away. Avoid the ads, connect with your community, and learn how to sell a solution instead of a product all while staying loyal to your goals and your brand. Kelsey gives us some inside scoop on how to utilize organic marketing to your advantage. If you are a fitness pro looking to score your first, or next 5 clients - You won’t want to miss this one!

    Strategies to Attract Clients:

    1. BOOST THE VALUE: Create a problem bigger than your price and be sure to communicate how you solve that problem with a strong promise, a guarantee, a time constraint, and with ease
    2. HOST CONNECTION CALLS: Reach out to people who might be your Dream Clients, and ask them if you can spend 10 minutes asking them a few question related to your offer
    3. TRACK YOUR LEADS: Implement some sort of Leads List where you track Name, Email, and Last Point of Connection. Revisit this list 1x weekly.
    4. HOST YOUR VERSION OF 'HELL WEEK' - Launch a multi-day challenge to rally the community towards a common goal
    5. SEND INVITATIONS - Don't be afraid to invite your prospective clients to start working with you. No invite = no sale.
    6. THE ALMANAC OF RELEVANCE - What type of content can you create that is relevant to your Dream Client? How can you reposition your offer to align with what's going on in the world?

SNS 043: Who Is Rightly Related To God? Psalm 15, Psalm Tuesday

SNS 043: Who Is Rightly Related To God? Psalm 15, Psalm Tuesday

Can I just say that if you ever wondered just who, exactly, is the person that is rightly related to God, what does the person looks like and how they behave? This is the Psalm for you. For here, the Psalmist explores this. He gives us some concrete examples of what living for God, living from love, we could even say, abiding in Christ looks like. I know, right? Well, let’s first hear the psalm. Then we’ll chat about it.

Also, before beginning, I am proud to say that this podcast is now sponsored by our book, Psalms 1-72, A Simple Not Shallow Presentation. This book is a collection of the Psalms, as heard on the Psalm Tuesday episodes. It is available as a paperback and as an e-book. In this book, God’s word is presented in a manner that helps reveal the prayerfulness of the poetry of the Psalms, allowing you a deeper connection, a deeper relationship with him.  That is exciting! I’ve provided a couple of links in the show notes for this episode. One to my website where you can learn more about this book and then to where it is located on Barnes and Noble.com and the other to its location on Amazon.com, just for your convenience. So, go ahead and collect your copy today.

But, for now, my name is Charles, Charles Yerkes, and this is Psalm Tuesday here on the Simple Not Shallow Podcast. This podcast is for those who want a deeper faith and not an aggressively mediocre one. Psalm Tuesday is a series in which we will listen to a psalm being read in a manner that honors their original use as part of a worship service. Here in episode #43, we are listening to Psalm 15.

So, grab yourself some coffee, and let’s get started.

Flyover Folk Episode 8: With today's urban biases, is rural a disadvantage?
Much of America’s economic and community development decisions are made in urban centers and this urban bias puts rural people at a real disadvantage. Today’s guest, Nicholas Garcia, is a rural social scientist at the Ohio State University who studies the accessibility of rural communities for people with disabilities. On today’s episode, we talk about the advantages and disadvantages of rurality on both micro and macro levels and how local leaders can turn their local challenges into opportunities for their community.
