    59: Djinn-erosity

    59: Djinn-erosity

Quick warning, the audio for this episode ended up corrupted. The entire episode is there, but there's an unfortunate amount of mechanical echo that just cannot be edited out. It's still listenable, but the audio quality does not meet our usual standards. Apologies ahead of time.

This week, Travis takes us down the road of another multi-episode arc, exploring the lore of the genies! These elementals are broken up into multiple subraces, including the djinn.

    The Lemp Family Haunting

    The Lemp Family Haunting

"...this family would find strange mounds of rocks and sand meticulously piled directly underneath the window of their infant son’s room..."

A quote from today's first story. Our first tale is about the demons that haunt the Muslim world - the jinn. Specifically, the jinn of Bahla, Oman, a city listed as one of the top ten most haunted cities in the world. Our second story is the infamous tale of St Louis's Lemp family and the haunted Lemp mansion. Was the family cursed? Who still haunts their mansion today and what lies in the old caves below?

    Opening Sumerian protection spell (adapted):
"Whether thou art a ghost that hath come from the earth, or a phantom of night that hath no home… or one that lieth dead in the desert… or a ghost unburied… or a demon or a ghoul… Whatever thou be until thou art removed… thou shalt find here no water to drink… Thou shalt not stretch forth thy hand to our own… Into our house enter thou not. Through our fence, breakthrough thou not… we are protected though we may be frightened. Our life you may not steal, though we may feel SCARED TO DEATH."
