Thank you for another FANTASTIC Year! We're being downloaded in 107 countries globally & growing! We're not "true crime", we're the truth in the criminal justice system!

As we close out another fantastic year filled with one accomplishment after another for “Light ‘Em Up” … which included new sponsorships … and new underwriters -- we wanted to focus on what is most important to us other than searching out the truth.

We wanted to take some special time to recognize you, our listeners for your TSL (time spent listening) to us throughout this past year.

We thank you for another fantastic year of growth and achievements and express our appreciation for your wonderful engagement and your role in helping us grow to 107 countries globally as we close out Season 4.

We never thought this kind of success would be something that we could attain, and we never were concerned about our growth at the inception of this project.

Initially we set out to tell the truth about topics of importance in the U.S. criminal justice system --- and look what it has become!

We have been able to advocate for so many people.

The corporate plan is to take the remainder of the year off in order to rest for a week or so, recover and enjoy some quality time with our families.

We then will begin the process for Season 5 of Light ‘Em Up where we strive to achieve new goals and break even more records with the reach of our podcast.

Also, to add more sponsors and underwriters.

The truth is under attack – and the truth is worth defending!

We have labored tirelessly to dig deep, vast and wide to bring you a special insight that you really won’t find anywhere else regarding the U.S. criminal justice system.

We are loyal, consistent and dedicated to you, our listeners.  We are truly here for you and because of you!

Our commitment to you here on Light ‘Em Up is that we’ve endeavored to tackle topics that have a real impact in your daily lives.

We’ve worked tirelessly to try to be the “Voice of the people”.

Please consider joining our Criminal Justice Foundation Justice Rolls Down and its page found on Facebook as well as our worldwide presence on YouTube at:  Rizzo's Protective Group.

Here is our complete catalogue.  Here is our last full episode of the year regarding the war that is presently raging in Gaza.

This advocacy piece irritated a lot of people but was wildly popular and downloaded at a record (for us) and at a tremendous rate/amount.

Peter is back and we discuss his upcoming music fest. The ever-changing music business, before we dive into the world at large.

    *****
Peter is a meditation coach, Ki Gong instructor, Sound Healer, and musician. He was a professional musician for about ten years, but the money was drying up as the opportunities started to disappear because of the changing face of the music industry. He then went on to become a Ki Gong instructor and a meditation coach. This was a hard decision and made him realize why he had experienced the kind of life he had. It was the right decision but it felt wrong at the time. It has been an interesting conundrum for him.

Creating Your Own Spiritual Philosophy with Carol Mae Whittick

Creating Your Own Spiritual Philosophy with Carol Mae Whittick

    Summary

Jenessa introduces her guest for this episode, carol Mae wittek, a creativity and spiritual life coach and podcaster.

Carol shares her background and how she got started in this field.

How did you get started in creativity? 2:13

How she got started in her own journey into creativity, and how it has never left her.

The importance of paying attention to intuition and the stream of creativity.

People come from all walks of backgrounds and have made significant achievements in their life, but still feel disconnected or disconnected from something.

Tapping into intuition is super important.

A lot of people or two people come to you already believing that they have a connection to spirit or their higher self or the universe.

How to recognize how your higher self, intuition, source, god or creator is talking to you, so that you can recognize that.

    Know that it's yours. 8:20

One of the first things she remembers is learning to ride a bike and having a dream of herself doing it the next day.

When she was younger, she was cocky about winning things and had a sense of confidence that she was going to win.

Energy comes from your heart and soul. 10:42

The energy that comes from the energy that you are sending out to the universe comes from your heart and soul, not from your mind.

Breaking out of the box of learned behavior and expectations that opens the door for creativity and for the spirit universe to open the door.

Carol feels like she is becoming unemployable because of her lack of self-awareness and belief in herself.

Carol finds that when people get more rooted into who they are, it's cool for everyone else in the room to disagree with them, and it's not a problem.

How to respond to disagreement. 16:06

The world will come at you, but you will be able to go here, here, and here again, but not have it as an argument.

The way the world is organized.

The importance of leaning into who you are and what you can bring to the world, and how it changes your perspective and people's perspective around you.

A lot of the people that come to you for help come from a place of doubt and doubt.

How to monetize your dreams? 21:01

Dreams are an aspect of you showing that what is possible for you, and you don't know all the steps, but that feeling into the vision of who you can be is actually giving you guidance.

Take the opportunity to step into your dreams and do what it is being brought to you.

Don’t worry about how much money you’ll make. 24:01

Don't worry about how much money you'll make today, there's always a way of it happening. People are making money with the most amazing way, and now due to technology, it's possible.

There's no wrong way of being spiritual, having a spiritual practice is the fun of it.

Take one step at a time, read one thing today, or just sit with yourself for five minutes, and let your mind open to whatever it wants to think about.

Get into the habit of journaling and journaling, a brain dump of the day.

Getting the junk out of your body. 29:29

Take a pen and do whatever you need to do for five minutes to get the junk out of your mind, body and onto a piece of paper.

    Letting go.

Carol Mae Whittick is a Creativity & Spiritual Life Coach and Podcaster.

Her unique and holistic approach to coaching helps her clients awaken their creativity to design the life they

desire and experience a greater awareness of who they are as they awaken spiritually.

In addition to coaching, Carol shares wisdom and insights with a broader audience as a dedicated

Season One Wrap-Up: From 0 to 11,000 Downloads - A Quick Thank You!

Season One Wrap-Up: From 0 to 11,000 Downloads - A Quick Thank You!

Welcome to the season finale of Ridgemont4sFinest - The Podcast! In this "Quickie" episode, I am back to thank my incredible audience for their support, as we prepare to kick off the school year in just a few weeks. With over 11,000 downloads, the support, sponsorships, and donations have made this season possible. As the school year approaches, I want to wish everyone a great back-to-school preparation and to continue following me on social media for some "alternative" Professional Development sessions instead of sitting through boring ones, lol!

As we bid farewell to season one, I want to express my  gratitude to the dedicated listeners and the community that has made this podcast a success. With around 14-15 episodes completed in this season, I reflect on the initial goal of reaching 10,000 downloads by the end of July when we started the podcast back in May.

A special thanks goes to those who have generously donated to the production of the show, without whom this podcast would not be possible. As we take this short break to prepare for season two, I will be diving back into my role as a teacher and getting my classroom and teacher life in order. But fear not, dear listeners, I will return in a couple of weeks with a back-to-school episode featuring fan favorites and teacher friends.

With a phenomenal milestone reached on July 26th - 11,000 downloads and counting - I am blown away by the love and support from you, the audience. Again, my sincere  gratitude for the shares, support, and feedback that have helped shape the podcast. Special thanks go out to the sponsors who have ensured a top-notch listening experience, and financially made this dream possible for me.
Thank you for joining us on this podcast journey and stay tuned for an amazing season two coming your way soon!

Our special edition: "We hit one million downloads" episode!

Our special edition: "We hit one million downloads" episode!

Welcome to the biggest episode yet! Well not really, but we have met a milestone I couldn’t have fathomed 3 years ago on 20th July 2020.  It has hit home what has happened over this time and how this 'little' podcast has grown into something really fantastic. And this is due to my dear friend Dr Rachel Reed, our amazing guests who have so kindly donated their time to come on, and to all of you who listen in each episode and make the effort to share it, talk about it, grab a bit of merch to promote it, those of you who have financially supported the show and also those of you who have written in with your stories which have often bought me to tears. I am humbled and really bloomin grateful.

This is a bonus episode just for you. You will not hear anything about birth, midwifery, or breastfeeding! Be warned! This is a listener special where we asked you guys for your questions about us!

So what will your lug’ols be filled with today?

    ·      Katie’s story of a bag of crisps called Keith

    ·      Rachel dancing to Oliver Twist

    ·      How surprisingly we both chose very similar people to invite to our dinner party!

    ·      But don’t talk to Rachel about bananas or pineapples

    ·      We reminisce on going clubbing together from 11am on public holidays in Newcastle upon Tyne, in the UK.

    ·      We let you in on what we got up to at our midwifery university graduation

    ·      And finally … how Katie got chased by a lion.

Should make for good listening… not educational listening at all, but if you are up for being told a story or two then grab a cuppa and sit down with us in this special episode!

The Modern Crone: Season 4: Creative Spirit with Anastassia Selezneva

The Modern Crone: Season 4: Creative Spirit with Anastassia Selezneva

Creative Spirit with Creative Director - Anastassia Selezneva

Anastassia Selezneva first began her creative exploration as a painter in her youth, and transitioned to jewellery design as a new medium in 2012. The desire came spontaneously when she walked into a jewellery supply store on Queen St in Toronto.

This chance encounter ignited an immediate curiosity. Anastassia taught herself basic goldsmithing techniques late into most nights and early mornings. Moving between her kitchen counter and her makeshift studio, she experimented with wire wrapping gemstones, fusing metals, and stone setting.

Her life began to form a duality; she was a business analyst by day, and an artist by night. The pull to be immersed in creativity was clear and in 2015, Anastassia quit her job, began training as a professional goldsmith at George Brown College and simultaneously, launched her line, Anastassia Sel Jewelry.

Synonymous with her roots, Anastassia’s collection is handmade in Toronto, using 100% certified Canadian gold and ethically sourced materials.

Since then, Anastassia’s work has been featured in Vogue, Elle, Wedluxe, Brides, among other publications, has walked the New York, Milan and Toronto runways, and can be found in select boutiques in Canada, US and online.

Join us as we explore Anastassia’s journey into her full creative expression, how our greater purpose keeps finding us until we respond, her incredible melding of spiritual travel and downloads into her jewellery, and how working with gold as supreme medium.
