SPECIAL REPORT- On December 3, 2022, an attack on two electrical substations in Moore County, North Carolina left 45,000 households and businesses without power for up to five days. It was the biggest domestic terrorist attack on the electricity grid in U.S. history, but one year later, no arrests have been made and authorities have named no suspects other than to say that whoever did this “knew what they were doing.” In this installment of The Laura Flanders Show’s investigation into the local roots of the January 6 insurrection in one state, North Carolina, Laura speaks with the North Carolinians who were at a drag show in Moore County when the lights went out. “Downtown Divas” had been harassed for months by anti-LGBTQ leaders — did the sabotage attack have anything to do with that harassment or the drag performance scheduled that night? As legislators and local leaders continue to roll back LGBTQ rights, they remain largely silent about the real threats facing North Carolinians and the nation from domestic terrorists with their sights set on U.S. power grids. Why? This episode also looks at how the LGBTQ community in North Carolina is standing up to hate and creating safety — with Drag operatics — for all.

“When the lights went out, it didn't matter who was Black, who was Latino, who was Asian, who was a person of color, didn't matter if you were Catholic, if you were Baptist, if you were Christian. We were all in the same space, all in the same boat, which was that we didn't have any power.” - Naomi Dix

“[After the attack] I remember thinking, I have to start speaking more . . . I have to start sticking up for myself and the trans community more, because that's what prevents things like this.” - Alex Lafferty

“We aren't the villains in this situation. We have a right to exist and be performing and what I love about drag is the joy that we bring not only to LGBT people, but the whole community.” - Tori Grace Nichols

“We are talking about a great harm that happened here in North Carolina, but this is a national problem and not a new one . . . This is a domestic terrorist threat that people really need to be paying attention to.” - Serena Sebring

“. . . That show and that incident brought out two different sets of people. It brought out the lovers and it brought out the haters . . . Those haters have found a way to attack our youth through the school board and our communities.” - Erica Street

Foundation with Steve Teed S3Ep09: "Drag"ging On

In this episode, we will look at a few stories today and start with a heart-wrenching one of a pastor who made some really bad decisions.  Following that we will seek to answer the question of why is it that so many people suddenly seem to believe and accept things that they never used to.

We have the return of our normal segment to educate the mind a bit with our word of the week in the "What Does That Mean" segment.

Never fear we will be handing out the Apostasy of the Week award to close out the episode.  Who will get the dishonor this time?

    Sucker For Punishment

    Sucker For Punishment

In the latest episode of the "Not Well with Bobby and Jim" podcast, hosts Bobby and Jim dive into an array of eclectic discussions. The episode kicks off with a light-hearted chat about intelligent animals, aquariums, killer whales, flies, garbage, La Croix beverages, and films such as Willy Wonka and Titanic. Bobby and Jim provide their insights on these topics, infusing their dialogue with wit and personal stories.

The hosts also tackle more personal and challenging subjects, recounting tough experiences they've encountered during their podcasting journey. They recall grappling with a co-host on the brink of suicide and receiving threats in the dead of night. They voice their apprehension about discussing personal matters, like crushes and individuals they dislike. Moreover, they candidly discuss their physical preferences in men, with one host revealing a specific fondness for blondes and redheads.

The conversation lightens as they discuss a dog's behavior, describing it as wary of strangers and loyal to those it knew as a puppy. They humorously suggest the dog needs discipline and ponder sending it to training. They also share a funny story about mistaking homemade pizza for a frozen one at a friend's house, leading to a discussion about different bread types and upcoming trips.

Bobby and Jim engage in an animated discussion about the movie Titanic, expressing their admiration for the film and dissecting its ending and various scenes. They also address negative feedback they've received, including allegations of unprofessionalism. They express their disappointment over the lack of listener calls and address questions from their Patreon subscribers.

The hosts then shift to a more jovial tone as they discuss a picture sent to them, commenting on the person's hair color and thighs. They share their preferences for hair color, kindness, and a good smile, and briefly discuss oral hygiene and hair grooming. The conversation then veers towards their aversion to weed and their Friday night plans.

Throughout the episode, Bobby and Jim engage in frank and occasionally explicit discussions, sharing personal experiences, opinions, and jokes. They talk about military service, sexual activities, and even envision a world where everyone else has disappeared. They reflect on their need for attention and their appreciation of emotional experiences.

In summary, this episode of the "Not Well with Bobby and Jim" podcast is a medley of random conversations, personal stories, and humorous discussions on a wide range of topics. Bobby and Jim's unique perspectives and engaging repartee make for an entertaining and thought-provoking listen.

Robot Takeover: Our AI-Powered, Not-So-Human Podcast Episode

Welcome to "Not Well", your favorite gay comedy podcast where we dish on everything from pop culture to the wild rollercoaster of our personal lives. In this groundbreaking episode, we're taking things up a notch by having an AI technology curate our entire conversation. You read that right! It's not actually Bobby or Jim speaking, but an AI program designed to mimic our voices and hilarious banter.

We jump headfirst into our AI-generated weekend recap, starting with Michael's birthday bash at Pins Mechanical in Columbus, Ohio, tackling Bobby's pee-shyness, and some less-than-pleasant bar behavior. Then, it's time for half-off BrewDog Elvis Juices, edibles, and a subpar drag show that has us questioning if we're outgrowing the scene or if it's losing its luster.

Our AI adventure takes us to a late-night pizza binge at Slammers, bizarre encounters at Better Half, and health code gossip at Union. We also take a nostalgic trip down memory lane, cheating our way through heads up 7 up, and ponder the possibility of Jesus being a fabulous gay icon.

On a more serious note, we tackle the Tennessee controversy with two black congressmen, discuss the fierce change-makers of Gen Z and Alpha, and share our thoughts on the Budweiser and Dalai Lama scandals. And can we talk about that unpredictable weather and fair-weather churchgoers? Stay tuned for all this and more, only on "Not Well" – the gay comedy podcast you can't get enough of.

Foundation with Steve Teed Season 2 Ep 22: Pulling Back the Curtain

Foundation with Steve Teed Season 2 Ep 22: Pulling Back the Curtain

In this episode of foundation with Steve Teed, we pull back the curtain on what is really behind some of the developments in our culture.

We will start by examining what is really behind the so-called "Family Friendly" drag times for kids.  Is it really just a form of art or is there something more happening that is trying to stay hidden?

In the second story, we will look at an article that says most people think being woke is a good thing.  We will look at the definition that most use and then pull back the curtain to see what having a "woke" culture really entail.

After the break, we will visit Rick Warren and see how not to study the Bible and arrive at conclusions.

In a bonus segment, we will look at one more brief article on doubt.  We will see what the biggest causes of a Christian having doubt and what can we do about it.

Part of Speech by A. HItler, 1935:

Today women’s battalions were being formed in Marxist countries, and to that one could only reply, “That will never happen here! There are things a man does, and he alone is responsible for them. I would be ashamed to be a (American) man if ever, in the event of war, but a single woman were made to go to the front.” The woman had her own battlefield. With every child to which she gave birth for the nation, she was waging her battle for the nation. The man stands up for the (people) just as woman stands up for the family. A woman’s equal rights lie in the fact that she is treated with the high regard she deserves in those areas of life assigned to her by nature.

    Episode 15: Drag Kings

    Episode 15: Drag Kings

A long-awaited topic for Out of Context has finally arrived: drag kings!

Richard Rockhard AKA Courtney Stanley is one of the hardest-working drag kings in Halifax, Nova Scotia.  Caitlin first got to know him as a fellow performer in the legendary "Get Your Drag On"  (GYDO) show at Menz & Mollyz bar in 2016, and he carries on that legacy to this day!

In this episode, Caitlin gets the full history of Richard Rockhard the Halifax drag king, but also some insight into how an alter ego has helped Courtney grow and change off-stage.  Although drag itself has become more mainstream in recent years, drag kings still often have to create space for themselves and many still don't know what a drag king even is.  By the end of this episode, you'll be well acquainted with one of the finest out there!

EP 021 | Family Friendly Drag? Maybe.

EP 021 | Family Friendly Drag? Maybe.

The Raynbow Collective hosted a "Back to School Pride Night" in an attempt to show support for queer students that attend BYU. For anyone who is not aware, BYU is possibly the least queer-friendly university in the country. That is my personal opinion, at least. There were booths, activities, vendors, live music and, to end the night, a "family-friendly" drag show that was supposed to be appropriate for all ages.

Conservative groups got wind of the drag show and staged a protest. This podcast episode isn't for or against one side or the other, it is simply some of my thoughts and observations of the event and the protest. I hope you enjoy.

    Thanks for listening.
