#39 Richard Raynault helps me communicate with my spirit guides during this episode.

Richard Raynault AKA "Richard the Creator" grew up with a father who created the first psychic fairs in North America and who worked with a deep trance psychic to communicate with spirits.  Richard also communicated with "the Evergreens," a collective of spirits, and together they created the Dragonfly, an electronic communication tool that can be used by any of us.  During this episode, Richard consults my spirit guides to get a question answered for me.

    # 213: T.G. SHEPPARD & KELLY LANG share stories of unstoppable perseverance and achieving legendary status in Country music

When your two closest friends are the late Elvis Presley and Olivia Newton-John you know there are good stories to tell. Nine-time Emmy winner, David Sams, sits down with T.G. Sheppard and his wife, Kelly Lang to talk about life’s ups and downs. T.G. Sheppard is coined as one of the top 100 country music artists of all time. And Kelly Lang is a singer, songwriter, speaker, and author. Between T.G. being a teenage runaway and Kelly’s battle with breast cancer, the two know a thing or two about overcoming life’s trials. The two offer encouragement and hope through their personal stories.

Dragonflies and the Science Behind Their Unique Adaptations

Dragonflies and the Science Behind Their Unique Adaptations

Dragonflies are some of the fastest flying insects in the world. With 360-degree vision, they can eat hundreds of insects per day, including those pesky mosquitoes and other biting insects. Their adaptations for flying are unique among insects and so precise that humans can only dream of being able to someday make machines that fly as well as dragonflies.

Dragonflies are similar in structure to an ancient group of insects informally called Griffinflies, which contains some of the largest flying insects to ever live. These dragonfly-like insects had a wing span of 2.5 feet, or 30 inches. That’s bigger than a house cat. How did these bugs get so big, and why are they no longer around? That’s a question we’re still trying to answer.

Dragonflies have some unique adaptations to ensure they mate with the correct species, including remarkable variations in the male sex organ, and even a secondary sex organ.  Males can be aggressive while mating, which has led to some females living in a totally different habitat than males. In some cases, females mimic males or pretend to be dead to avoid males.

DU058 - Splashdown in außerirdischen Meeren

DU058 - Splashdown in außerirdischen Meeren

    Darleen is a Dragonfly

    Darleen is a Dragonfly

    Darleen is a dragonfly.

A dragonfly understands that one must wait.

That the darkness until today has been simply the passage of transformation -and the only way out.

Though the answers are not clear, a dragonfly does not lose faith.

She believes her strength and agility will soon reach the light.

And when she does, her wings will shimmer bright.

    Kalonji's Story

    Kalonji's Story

Kalonji, a cancer survivor, sits down with co-founder of The Dragonfly Foundation (Dragonfly), Ria Davidson, to share his insights on the importance of community and philanthropy. In 2019, Kalonji – and his young family – faced prostate cancer. He and his wife were determined to remain optimistic, especially for their two children. They also continued to find ways to laugh and experience joy. The support of Kalonji’s family and friends during his battle was key for him.

As Kalonji grew stronger post-treatment, he and his family made a commitment to support others through Dragonfly. As a Dragonfly volunteer, Kalonji provides support at fundraisers and patient/family events and has dedicated time to two volunteer leadership teams that support Dragonfly’s Student Programs and External Relations Committee initiatives.

Dragonfly’s Student Ambassador program helps school-aged students develop important fundraising skills while encouraging kindness, compassion and empathy -- powerful life lessons.

Kalonji and Ria talk about the impact Dragonfly volunteers and donors have on pediatric cancer patients and their families. They also talk about the change volunteering has on the person volunteering.

He mentions the importance of finding opportunities to laugh and make ourselves better.

At 20:48, Don’t miss their review of the independent film, “Peanut Butter Falcon,” an American comedy-drama that in the most joyful way, promotes compassion and empathy towards others.

Kalonji encourages everyone to support Dragonfly and to provide even the smallest gesture of kindness and generosity.
