Embrace Your Super Power- Adapt-Pivot and Go in 2024

Embrace Your Super Power- Adapt-Pivot and Go in 2024

Embrace your Super Power!  Step 1- Start by Recognizing and leveraging your unique strengths, abilities, gifts and talents!!  These innate talents and skills are the juice to empower you when facing challenges confidently and still make important decisions that align with your Vision!!

    2) Start with a Self-Assessment and  your goal setting plan of action
.  You are more than a job title. You are multi-dimensional wearing a lot of different hats personal and professional. There is a time for lanes and in your eyes you then prioritize them and put them on your calendar color coded by category and lane.
    3) Time Management is your decision on what you will do when.  That means sharing your calendar with family and business where it applies allows you to feel in control of your time and the things you plan to do and the things or time you have available for others.
    4) Nurture your relationships.  Remember to give as much as you take.  Business or personal there must be boundaries or you may find unhealthy individuals with access to areas of your life they should not be in or taking you for granted.  It is ok to protect your circles and your relationships.
    5) MENTORSHIP is a MASTER PLAN- Mentors are the new time savers and elevators to connecting to your most powerful gifted self.  They see and hold the belief of your dreams and goals and never waiver in that partnership to see you to each new level you  are willing to invest in for your present and future!!
    6) Support systems and networking are major!   Investing in building a strong network in personal and business circles.  Trust is a major area to learn how and who to qualify for access to you.  Like-minded people gravitate to one another and you.  My Faith goes before me so I trust in God for my discernment and of course use all the legal permissions that go beyond that person.  ( As you see in this video that one of my friends passed away and her evergreen evidence of our sessions are all I have left of that amazing woman..thank God he knew the value long before we met)
    7) Adapt and learn.  OMG!  If we find ourselves thinking in a box would we allow our coach or mentor to help snap us out o

    Style will influence your career

    Style will influence your career

Style plays a pivotal role in our lives, particularly when it comes to nurturing a brilliant career. Style is the means through which we present ourselves. It's our mode of self-expression, a channel for communicating who we are to the world and how we choose to show up.

In this episode, I am entering controversial territory, to talk about style from the perspective of the way we dress and style ourselves – which some will say is irrelevant, shallow, or simply unimportant. But, I want to talk about it from the perspective of your career and how I believe style can be a potent tool.

Your Brilliant Career is a podcast by Gillian Fox - executive coach, women's career expert and entrepreneur. Your Brilliant Career teaches you how to get the most out of your career. We talk tactics, tools and stories that help incredible women like you achieve the success you deserve.

Leveraging Agency with Sunny Hostin & Claudia Hernandez

This episode features Sunny Hostin, lawyer, author journalist and co-host of ABC’s “The View” and Dress for Success Global Ambassador Claudia Hernandez. They discuss AGENCY, how this quality is emerging as a vital force in our society-- especially for women, how it is linked to both free thinking and responsible action, and how role models ranging from Oprah to Barbara Walters influenced their paths.

“We don’t control what happens to us, but we can certainly control what we can do about it.”
    —Claudia Hernandez

“I define agency as control over your actions, it is as if they are self-motivated as opposed to imposed by someone else, like society or an institutional structure. This is an important moment for women as we take control over our bodies and our careers.”—Sunny Hostin

    'Enclothed Cognition' with Jes Ruzic

    'Enclothed Cognition' with Jes Ruzic

Welcome to season 2, episode 46 of the Today is the Day Changemakers Podcast.

This week my guest is Jes Ruzic, Certified Personal Stylist & Image Consultant. She has been helping women discover their styles for nearly a decade.

Jes has styled Covergirl Models at New York Fashion Week runway shows and dressed Comic-Con models. In her day to day, she dresses keynote speakers, revitalizes wardrobes and helps her clients recycle clothing in the appropriate way.

Jes helps clients with color analysis, so that they look and feel their best. She will come into your home, clean out and evaluate your closet for relevancy. During the interview she shares how so many times we keep things in our closet that do not bring back fond memories or make us feel good when we put them on. She also speaks to the importance in loving ourselves for where we are right now in our personal journey. We may not be at our ideal weight, but that doesn't mean we can't feel good in what we leave the house in every day.

Our conversation goes from undergarments to red carpets.

Did you know that textile dying is the number two leading cause of water pollution! Listen in to hear Jes talk about how Helpsy is doing all they can to keep clothes out of the trash. Jes has a true commitment to sustainability and passion for textile recycling that has led her to partner with organizations such as Dress For Success, Soles 4 Souls, and H&M to name a few. She enjoys going out to speak on the importance of sustainability in the fashion industry to organizations.

Listen in to hear the footprint Jes is creating now that she wants to leave behind. You can also find Jes on Instagram @jesruzicstylist.

Next week, my guests are Kranthi Vulpe, Mythri Vulpe, Jagdish Goud, Parmesh Goud, Niharika Beesa. All five are now grown children of SOFKIN - Support Organization For Kids In Need. Chaya Pamula, Founder, Sofkin joins us in this interview as well. We talk about why SOFKIN was started and the incredible positive impact it has for children who need a home full of love, education, and support in Hyderabad, India.

    120. Style For Impact Honoring Your Authentic Self with Solita Roberts

    120. Style For Impact Honoring Your Authentic Self with Solita Roberts

My guest is Solita Roberts, and her focus is to empower us to love and accept who we are, including our body, our personality, and our individual style and in turn accepting who other people are, including their body, personality and individual style.

    • What does it mean to have an inclusive workspace in relation to how we dress?
    • How our clothes are so much more than us buying some shirts and pants. It's all about how we want to express our authentic self and the story behind the clothes and how we dress
    • Why we are not taught how to dress our authentic self, but only how to dress to fit in and to blend in, especially as women and even more so as black women.
    • how and why we can get stuck if we don't let our wardrobe grow and change along as we grow and change

And at the end we talk about what mistakes especially us women can make when dressing and what it has to do with our personal brand and how we show up as business women.

I hope you enjoy this episode as much as I loved this conversation. If you find value in what Solita and I are talking about, please share it with your friends and business besties because if you find value in it, they will too.

    Should you dress for success?

    Should you dress for success?

It took us 17 or 18 takes to get this one in the books because Jason’s computer kept freezing up, including at least once early in this final shoot. Find any more instances of him freezing up to win a prize!

Warning: Hustle Machine can make no promises about providing a prize and this previous sentence is not a legally binding clause requiring us to give out a prize. Sorry.

As our duo learn revenge is a dish best served cold, Jason begins considering his career viability in case of a zombie apocalypse and Zack is confronted with whether he’s the Jack Shepherd of the group in perhaps the most tortured “Lost” metaphor of the past five years.

We almost break up the podcast entirely over Jason’s terrible Yoohoo take, but we do get down to business eventually in this marathon episode about the need to dress for success.

The irony of Zack wearing gym clothes while Jason wears a blazer over a graphic T-shirt to discuss this is duly noted, we promise.

Nonetheless, Zack in particular emphasizes the importance of first impressions and creating an office culture alike through office apparel, while Jason faces an existential crisis about his possible lack of a fashion style and whether he’s changed in the years since he once swore not to allow any hats in the office.

(Has Jason potentially been replaced by a pod person since then? What is he hiding under the cap he once threatened to ban from the workplace? Stay tuned to find out!)

We’ll talk about elevating your style, the difference between wearing certain clothes for client meetings versus wearing them for a day in the home office, and how wearing a nice outfit, even at  home, can make your work feel like your career and not just a hobby. We note how people treat you differently depending on your attire and talk about how to maintain your individuality even as you find ways to dress up to the expectations of new clients.

And as Jason, in particular, tries to find that perfect balance between the three-piece suits of the past and the casual Friday approach of the weekend, we can all remember that, if the apocalypse does happen, we can dress down as much as we want. The zombies won’t care.

Should you really wear pajamas to a Zoom meeting?

Should you really wear pajamas to a Zoom meeting?

Have you worn PJs to a Zoom call? Now what about on the bottom half of you, that’s outside the video frame? Today’s debate might make you think a little more deeply about what you’re wearing to WFH, how it’s affecting your performance, and what the history of dress codes can tell us about where workwear is going next.

Debater Maren Hotvedt argues in favor of PJs on Zoom calls, supported by fashion historian Deirdre Clemente, who shares the problematic history of controlling what we wear to work. Dominique Ward comes out against the practice, with help from clothing science researcher Regan Gurung, who explains the value of putting in a little more effort.

Your Image Matters in Business with Traci McBride

Your Image Matters in Business with Traci McBride

Today on The Business Chop Podcast, Audrey Wiggins will interview Traci McBride.

Traci McBride is the wardrobe stylist of TeeMcBee Image Consulting and is a longtime supporter of nonprofit Dress for Success-Cleveland. She encourages readers to subscribe to her timely e-zine, schedule a style strategy call, or request her to infuse their staff or organization with a passionate, professional punch of style to elevate everyone.

Have you been thinking of making some personal changes or improvements in your life? Why wait until other events happen first?

A typical conversation I have with women is they want to get support with the wardrobe in their closets…b-u-t they were waiting to lose weight, pay off a debt, get their child off to college, find time, save money, make more money, get through the summer busyness, get through the holidays…WOW! A million different reasons for putting off LOOKING and FEELING better!

My experience has always been that we find the time and resources for whatever we really want and feel we deserve, no matter what.

I promise, when you LOOK and FEEL YOUR best and are your most authentic self, you will make more money, lose weight, enjoy the summer busyness and have a more meaningful holiday season.

You will find when your daily routine is streamlined, dressing for your life is effortless, you feel more confident, and self-doubt disappears. What happens then is really transforming: you become more in the moment in your life, rather than worrying about your clothes, and wondering if your shoes were the right choice, or if your suit or dress is appropriate for the event.
