The Yin to his Yang: Discover Femininity by Understanding Masculinity

The Yin to his Yang: Discover Femininity by Understanding Masculinity

What You'll Hear In This Episode:

    - The symbiotic relationship between masculinity and femininity, and how they bring out the best in each other

    - The misconception that simply dressing up and waiting for the "right guy" is enough to feel feminine

    - Learning how to make a man's world bigger by supporting his dreams and aspirations

    - The tendency to build walls and become less open with age and negative experiences

    - The shifting of focus from masculine or feminine behavior to attractive behavior

    - The dangers of relying on seducers and players to bring out femininity

    - The need for self-reflection and understanding one's role in attracting certain types of individuals

    - The importance of both partners doing their part in maintaining a healthy relationship

    Key quotes:

    • "Because I had these thick walls up and I was so afraid of being vulnerable and feminine I never could find a man who treated me the way I wanted to be treated. Most men didn't feel like there was an opportunity for them to do that with me." — Lisa Shield
    • "One way of making a man's world bigger is listening to, asking about, and supporting his dreams." — Lisa Shield
    • "If you want to have a healthy relationship and you want to have a really beautiful, masculine, feminine dynamic, then it starts with learning about masculinity. Not just learning how you can become more feminine, but learning what draws out a man's masculine side. So you need to do your part just as much as he needs to do his part." — Lisa Shield
    • "And it's not just about sitting and waiting for a man to bring your femininity out, but it's also about you knowing how to draw out his masculinity. And as you do that, your femininity will start to emerge in the process." — Lisa Shield

S2 Ep 12 Maya - She Was 13 When Her Sister, Age 2, Was Diangosed With Cancer

S2 Ep 12 Maya - She Was 13 When Her Sister, Age 2, Was Diangosed With Cancer

Maya - It's not often I get to talk about cancer in a way where it's both educational, emotional, and inspiring. I want people to know they’re not alone regardless of their role, whether they are the patient, the parent, the sibling, even the cousin or the aunt.  Everybody is affected by a sickness and it's not just the immediate people; everybody matters.

“My friends thought I would give them cancer. I wore gloves when I changed my 2-year-old sisters’ diaper because the waste was radioactive.” This is Maya’s story.

She was 13 when her sister was diagnosed with ALL: Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. She remembers the moment, the pandemonium, surrounding the announcement her sister had cancer. As a teenage sibling, Maya was thrust into a journey which left her confused, fearful, lonely, and feeling deprived. And those are just a few of the many emotion’s siblings feel when they cope with a sister or brother who has cancer.

Maya is now 21 and her sister is 9. She is going to share her story to help comfort others. When I first met with Maya, I was drawn to the emotional details she shared. She has beautiful eyes and as she spoke, she let me into the world she witnessed, watching this younger life and, almost death, of her sister.

    The Magic of Halloween

    The Magic of Halloween

Halloween is a magical time of the year for both children and adults alike. Whether you prefer to play tricks or seek treats, it's a holiday that truly embraces the spirit of imagination requiring only one thing to participate; a costume. It can be store bought or a fully committed DIY job, but either way it doesn't have to break the bank. Bryn fabricates a fortune tellers costume while Laura tries her hat as a magician by only using things already in their home. Bryn reminisces on old costumes while sharing her experience of trick or treating as an aunt for the first time this year. Laura shares the struggles she felt as a kid by wanting to play more of the masculine roles at Halloween time only to realize the role that drag has had around this holiday for her.  In night full of screaming children jacked up of sugar, we all know what's really in the parent's yeti cup as they stroll the streets for trick or treat. But what's in some of these kid's candy bags?  From Dental Floss to light up swords we're talking about some of the bizarre things we've seen handed out from the "candy bowl". This episode is no tricks and all treats so put on your best costume and join us as we discuss the Magic of Halloween.

Nate and Mitch are Feeling Spooky

Nate and Mitch are Feeling Spooky

Halloween is upon us, and Nate and Mitch are feeling spooky!

The boys start things off by discuss wrestling by tying it in to their last weeks discussion. We're tanning specific parts of the body while sounding like Obama. After a few opening bits of banter, we get into the topic at hand: Halloween. Candy, dressing up, trick 'r treating, etc. We cover it all and having the fillings to show for it! Tight five returns with maybe a tweet edition? You be the judge. It also gets completely derailed by a joke not exactly being worded correct. The Goon Tribe t-shirt idea? We got those. After a classic Mitch pee break, we get into talking about a particular librarian we both had. We also talk about a different name for balls by a recalled childhood story from Mitch. The legend of the robot voice comes out to play and finish the episode out.

At the end of the day, it's all love. Enjoy dressing up, have a piece of candy, throw on a horror movie of your choice and enjoy this year's Halloween festivities (socially distanced of course)

Nate and Mitch are Feeling Spooky, and we hope you are, too.
