Taking The Comforts Of Home For Granted

Absence really does make the heart grow fonder. I love change and exploring new things, but in doing so, I've been thinking about what I miss the most while learning the new, and I'm sharing with you a few of those nuggets in this episode.

Be Wary Of What You Let In

Be Wary Of What You Let In

In this episode of Navigate the Day, the focus is on the importance of being wary of negative and harmful thoughts that can seep into our minds and take over our lives. Marcus Aurelius warns that drama, combat, terror, numbness, and subservience can wipe out our sacred principles if we allow them to enter our minds uncritically. It is important to be critical of these negative mental states and actively challenge them in order to preserve our values and lead a virtuous life.

The journal prompt for the day is “What can I do today to keep drama away?”. The host reflects on how this prompt is relevant to their own life, and shares some tips for keeping drama at bay. Consistency in mindfulness practices is crucial, as is staying focused on the present moment and avoiding dwelling on past or future events. It is also important to avoid gossip and negative discussions, which can lead to misunderstandings and damage relationships. By articulating our thoughts accurately and removing ourselves from situations when necessary, we can maintain our composure and devise productive strategies to deal with challenges.

The host shares their own struggles with avoiding drama and maintaining composure, and recognizes that their own internalization of negative feelings has allowed drama to seep into their life. They realize that they need to take action and maintain their integrity by being more vigilant of their thoughts and actions. Navigating life can be difficult, but by being aware of and actively challenging negative mental states, we can preserve our values and lead fulfilling lives.

Thank you for listening and joining me on my journey of self-discovery!

    102. Soak Up The Goodness Of God By Dwelling In The Secret Place: John Moore; Thursday Night

    102. Soak Up The Goodness Of God By Dwelling In The Secret Place: John Moore; Thursday Night

The goodness of God (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit) is experienced in dwelling in secret place. In their presence we feel His protection from all the corruption listed in Psalm 91.

We are invited to soak up God's goodness as we witness Him in the stillness. Then as we see and hear Him declare over us our inheritance (v.14-16), we speak as one who knows God and His goodness.

We find our home dwelling in the secret place as we grow and mature in our union with the Son of God. Listen and hear Jesus say, "I am the way, the truth, and the life."  You can go to the Father in union with the Son in the here and now. Blessings!

Abraham #3 - An Occupying Obedience

Abraham #3 - An Occupying Obedience

Abraham lived and died before the Law of Moses was given. Yet he was known for his amazing obedience. Like Abraham, born-again believers are “not under the law” of Moses. But so many Christians focus on obedience to the Law rather than faith. Join Kevin as we unpack Abraham’s amazing “occupying” obedience to God by faith…and consider our amazing opportunities! // Download this episode's Application & Action questions and PDF transcript at whitestone.org.

    98. What Am I Speaking? Is The Knowledge Of Freedom And Availability Coming Out Of Your Mouth? John Moore; Thursday Night

The world famous Psalm 91 is full of beautiful descriptions and is full of details. Therefore, we miss the fact that King David starts verse two with these words, "I will say of the LORD...". He who dwells is able to speak of all that is experienced in the secret place of the Most High.

What is coming out of my mouth? Do I speak life, freedom, and the availability of the Almighty? Do I let modern headlines and click-bait impact me? Or can I speak so highly of my Father, the Son, and Holy Spirit that my secret place inspired words impact the headlines and destroys click-bait. Sons (Daughters), time to grow in our relationship with the Trinity to speak in the territories and generations around us. Speak life!

    96. Where Do Sons (Daughters) Dwell?: The Secret Place Of The Most High; John Moore; Thursday Night

    96. Where Do Sons (Daughters) Dwell?: The Secret Place Of The Most High; John Moore; Thursday Night

Can we take the time to marry Psalm 91:1 to John 14:2? Powerful revelations come when we, with intent and desire, go abide with Father, Son, and Holy Spirit in Their secret place. If we don't know that secret place is about dwelling, then we will get an inferior idea about what secret place is. We have access to secret place in the here and now because we are in union with the Son.

Secret place results in better communication with Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, which leads to greater connection and intimacy in your relationship with Them.
