#062 - In this episode we meet Aisha who shares with us her story. Her story about how she overcame multiple obstacles and still come out on top to be a real success story! She is the first person in her family to complete Year 12 (and that was no easy task), went on to start her apprenticeship with a local hairdresser, and won herself a generous scholarship to help her out financially.
She is very grateful for her teachers that helped her along the way, but I have to admit, Aisha deserves some recognition too. We all could learn something from this young lady!!

Professor Amanda Kirby is a neurodiversity campaigner, medical doctor, academic, researcher, and entrepreneur. She is the CEO of a fast-expanding tech and health/educational profiling company – Do IT – and chair of the ADHD Foundation in the UK.

Lauren Woods is Assessment Accessibility Advisor at Cambridge Assessment International Education. She is a former member of a school leadership team with fourteen years’ school-based experience, and has coordinated provision for and supported students with special educational needs and disabilities.

#058 - What is the unwritten curriculum I hear you say? Well in my opinion it's the stuff you teach that is not always in your program. It's the lessons around love, compassion, empathy, resilience, perseverance and equality, just to name a few. #49 - Meet Reg and Lily who share with us their journey of changing how they assess their students at O'Connor Catholic College in Armidale, NSW. The most profound thing they have done is removed summative assessment tasks. This has created more engaged learners, due to students not just studying or learning for a particular task, but learning and improving on everything they are being taught! It has also changed the professional conversations within the staff, teacher-student conversations, how teachers report to parents and how parent and teacher interviews are carried out. #048 - An increasingly popular choice for parents and students are International Baccalaureate (IB) Schools. These schools are found in 159 countries around the world. The reason they are so popular may be because their focus is on child-centred learning and the well-being of the child is at the forefront of everything they do. #047 - In this episode we meet Karen, a Gamilaraay woman, who is a trained primary school teacher and currently works as the Aboriginal Education Worker in a local high school.  She is a wearer of many hats and absolutely loves her job helping Indigenous and non-Indigenous students.
