Resolutions For Life
Should Society Be Progressive? | Mere Christianity Ep. 7
Most of western society has progressed beyond religion entirely. Religious worldviews are a thing of the past, they didn't really work out for us right? We certainly shouldn't turn the clock back to such barbaric times!
Lewis will address this assertion and reveal what the true meaning of "progress" is. And how can we know if we're progressing? We'll discuss this as well and finally, we wrap up with some quotes from Church History that will hopefully be an encouragement to you!

Signing Day: Reviewing Coach Prime's First Recruiting Class
Signing Day, 2022, is in the books ... or is it? I am joined by Brad Geiger and Neil Langland, and we will discuss the day that was, as CU signed over 20 new Buffs into the fold. Coach Prime and his staff brought in a four-star quarterback, a four-star running back, and a four-star wide receiver, together with - literally - almost a ton of offensive line strength. On the defensive side of the ball there were pleasant surprises, including significant upgrades to the linebacker corps and the defensive backfield.
So ... How will the Buff Nation receive the Recruiting Class of 2023? ... Is the final grade going to be dependent upon whether other high-profile recruits sign on to the Class, or will the upgrades made - including the signing of CU’s first NFL Draft-worthy quarterback in a quarter century - be enough to show that Coach Prime and his staff are ready to make significant inroads in the 2023 season?
... Let’s find out ...
Elder S. Gifford Nielsen on the Black 14, feeding the hungry and healing communities, with guest host Sheri Dew
In 1969, 14 members of the University of Wyoming football team were unfairly dismissed for asking to participate in a peaceful racial protest in a game against Brigham Young University. A half-century later on Sept. 24, 2022, two members of the group, now known as the “Black 14”, ceremoniously lit the Y on the mountain above BYU’s Cougar Stadium. At their side was Elder S. Gifford Nielsen, a General Authority Seventy and former BYU quarterback. Elder Nielsen joins this episode of The Church News podcast to talk about how the Church has partnered with the Black 14 to heal that community rift while feeding the hungry, his newest assignment as president of the Church’s Africa West Area, and how examples of Christ-like leadership continue to shape his life today. He is joined by fellow BYU alumni Sister Sheri Dew, executive vice president of Deseret Management Corp. and a former member of the Relief Society general presidency, as guest host.
The Church News Podcast is a weekly podcast that invites listeners to make a journey of connection with members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints across the globe. Host Sarah Jane Weaver, reporter and editor for The Church News for a quarter-century, shares a unique view of the stories, events, and most important people who form this international faith. With each episode, listeners are asked to embark on a journey to learn from one another and ponder, “What do I know now?” because of the experience. Produced by KellieAnn Halvorsen.

"T.I.P.S." for CU v. UCLA / Plus: ASU Parts Ways With Herm Edwards: Will Karl Dorrell Be Next?
Welcome to our weekly review/preview episode. I am joined for this episode by Brad Geiger and Neil Langland, and we will start with a quick, yet somehow still painful, review of CU’s 49-7 road loss against Minnesota. The Buffs were behind 35-0 at the half, and only scored their first touchdown in two games against the Golden Gophers after Minnesota had run up the score to 49-0.
We will then discuss the far more interesting news of the weekend, that being the firing of Herm Edwards by Arizona State. The timing of the move, coming early in the season and with an NCAA investigation still looming, is curious. We will talk about the repercussions of the terminations of Herm Edwards and Scott Frost, before turning our attention to how long the Karl Dorrell era will last at Colorado. Athletic Director Rick George issued a statement Sunday, and we’ll sift through the language of that statement, and talk about how much longer CU can tolerate having what has become the worst team in Power Five conference football.
Not neglecting our duties, we also will go through our “T.I.P.S.” progression for the CU/UCLA game, reviewing the Talent for both teams, what Intangibles may be in play, how Preparation will play a role, and then look at which Statistics will factor in in deciding the winner.
So... Do the Buffs have a chance at keeping Bruin quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson - who has almost 1,200 career yards of total offense in four games against the Buffs - in check? Is it no longer about victories for the Buffs, but keeping it respectable? Will Karl Dorrell make it out of September with his title of head football coach at Colorado intact?
Let’s find out...

Cawthorn Out, Pennsylvania Wild, and More Election Results, Guest: Rand Paul on Ukraine Funding, Corona Madness
On today's Breitbart News Daily podcast, we begin with election results from Tuesday night's primaries. We, of course, discuss the Pennsylvania races, but there were some other interesting ones across the country, especially Rep. Madison Cawthorn getting unseated in North Carolina. Then, we get into headlines on immigration, baby formula, more Twitter deal drama, Black Lives Matter grift, and Pres. Biden's incredibly divisive speech in Buffalo, NY where he pretty much blames conservative commentators for one crazy racist who shot up a super market. Our guest today is Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY), who just so happened to have won his Senate primary race too. We ask him about sending money to Ukraine, the state of the coronavirus and our response, how to stop would-be mass shooters, and much more. His is an intellectual and a true constitutionalist, both of which tend to make for great interviews.
