But Bharatiya Janata Party seems to be wanting to end this hostility. Especially with Shivsena- Uddhav thackeray. After the bitter fallout with Uddhav Thackeray in 2019, and forming govt with rebelling group led by Eknath Shinde after collapse of MVA govt, BJP now seems to be softening its stand on Uddhav Thackeray.

शिंदे गुट को शिवसेना का नाम और निशान सौंपे जाने के खिलाफ उद्धव की याचिका पर सुप्रीम कोर्ट में बुधवार को सुनवाई हुई। सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने चुनाव आयोग के फैसले पर रोक नहीं लगाई है। हालांकि उद्धव गुट और शिंदे खेमे को नोटिस जारी कर 2 हफ्ते में जवाब मांगा है। CJI डीवाई चंद्रचूड़, जस्टिस पीएस नरसिम्हा और जस्टिस जेबी पारदीवाला की बेंच ने कहा कि शिंदे गुट ने चुनाव आयोग के सामने खुद को साबित किया है। इस स्थिति में अभी हम चुनाव आयोग के आदेश पर रोक नहीं लगा सकते हैं। कोर्ट ने कहा कि उद्धव कैंप अभी मिले अस्थायी नाम और चुनाव निशान का इस्तेमाल जारी रख सकता है।

Elections have not been announced in Maharashtra yet, but a big political development sent a shock waves in political circle. The Election Commission on Friday handed over the name and symbol of the Shiv Sena to the Shinde faction. It was a jolt to Uddhav Thackeray whose father founded the party. He called this decision of ECI as Murder of Democracy. The Thackeray faction has also accused Modi government and BJP of misusing central agencies like ED, CBI and IT. It has said the Election Commission is playing the role of puppet of the government. After the decision by ECI, the Uddhav Thackeray faction rank and file seems rattled, whereas Shinde grou p which has now been declared official shivsena, has been taking over the control of properties, Shakhas and offices in the name of the party. Today, they also took over Shivsena party office in State Assembly. On the other hand, the matter is pending in the supreme court. While Shinde group has filed caveat after ECI decision, Thackeray clan has moved against ECI order of allotting party symbol and name to Shinde. However, the Supreme Court has asked the lawyer to mention the matter tomorrow.

In a shocking development yesterday, the Election commission of India allotted the symbol of Shivsena: bow and arrow to Eknath Shinde. The decision was announced by the Election commission on Friday evening, almost eight months after the coup Shivsena by Eknath Shinde that led to vertical split in party and subsequent collapse of the MVA govt. The decision of the ECI is a huge setback for Uddhav Thackeray. Not only the symbol but ECi also cleared the name of the party in favour of Eknath Shinde. The ECI had earlier allotted different names and symbols to both shivsena factions. Shivsena UBT for Uddhav Thackeray group and symbol of Mashaal and the name Balasahebanchi Shivsena+ symbol of Dhaal and Swords to Eknath Shinde. However, in a major jolt to Uddhav Thackeray, the symbol and party name has been given to Eknath Shinde effectively given him the control of Shivsena the party. It must be noted that this matter is subjudice and a batch of petitions, challenging disqualifications, speaker's decisions etc are being heard by the court. the next date of the hearing is 21st of February. However, Uddhav Thackeray said that he will approach SC against the ECI's latest order as well. However, today let's talk about the Election commission order. The order raised many eyebrows in political and legal circles. As It will act as a precedence in similar cases in the future impacting political parties. Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) Chief Sharad Pawar remarked on the loss of the "bow and arrow" symbol of his ally Uddhav Thackeray faction on Friday, stating that it would not have any major impact. 

The Supreme Court on Wednesday (February 15) said that the “governor should not enter [the] political arena”. The court was hearing a case relating to the recent political crisis in Maharashtra which led to the fall of the Uddhav Thackeray government, after a faction of Shiv Sena MLAs led by Eknath Shinde withdrew their support. Chief Justice of India D.Y. Chandrachud said statements like this should not be coming from the governor’s office. “How can Governor be heard to say all this? On the formation of government, how can the Governor say this? When they form a government, governor is asked to give a trust vote…We are only saying Governor should not enter political arena,” he said.
