    Mr. 300

We are deep into the season, but this week on the show we need to take a timeout to acknowledge and appreciate Coach Curley’s 300th win at Juniata. The win came following a big Evan Eisenhart three in the final minute of Saturday’s 80-78 victory at Scranton. Tom, Biz and our very special guest (he will also be forever know as the first pick in 2023-2024 Alumni Game Draft) give Coach his flowers on the incredible accomplishment.

The fellas also thank a great crowd this past Wednesday night, preview this week’s pair of home games, the GLUM provides his game lines AND we host our first ever LIVE Alumni Game draft. Who will Tom select with the number one pick for Team Blue?

    This Week's Schedule:

    • Wed, Jan 24 vs Elizabethtown 7:00pm
    • Sat, Jan 27 at Wilkes 2:00pm – Catch the Annual Alumni Game at 9:30a, followed by a special game day edition of the podcast.

    The 1,000 Point Club

Two tight games this past week resulted in one win, one loss, and our newest member of the 1,000 point club. The fellas give Chase Husted his flowers and take a moment to celebrate the top scorers in the history of Juniata basketball. But before we dive into all the action, Biz takes the floor to clarify which Albert son actually pitches at Ithaca, while Tom proclaims some major decisions on Alumni Weekend, the Basketball Banquet, the future of the uniforms and a new segment calls 'Words of Bizdom.'

It all starts with Craig Biller

It all starts with Craig Biller

Today’s guest might be one of the more important building blocks in the Coach Curley Juniata Era. Class of 2004, Craig Biller led the program to its first winning season in 13 years finishing with back to back records of 13-12 in his junior and senior seasons. He was a MAC All-Conference performer leading the team in scoring his final two years and graduated with 807 total points. Biller talks to the fellas about watching the cultural change of the program occurring over the course of his time at Juniata, gives his advice to next year’s squad and reflects back on the infamous “Basketball House.” All that and a shoutout to the program for earning the NABC Team Academic Excellence Awards for the 22-23 season.

The Miners Who Fooled Millionaires: The Great Diamond Hoax

The Miners Who Fooled Millionaires: The Great Diamond Hoax

During the 19th century it seemed like the American West held endless possibilities for great wealth, and Americans were looking for that next big thing. Two Kentucky swindlers, taking advantage of gemstone fever, lured some of the country's biggest bankers and businnessmen -- and the founder of Tiffany & Co. -- into a jewel con with claims of having discovered a large deposit of diamonds. The value of their diamond mine would have exceeded $86 million in today's money. If it had been real.

    What's in the water?

    What's in the water?

It has been an outstanding stretch of basketball for the Juniata Eagles. Nine game winning streak, including 5 straight conference wins with two this past week. The first win came Wednesday vs Susquehanna 66-53  – which oddly enough was the exact same score as the eTown game at the Palestra – and then 71-65 on Saturday vs Scranton. It begs the question, what exactly is in the water up there, Coach Curley?

    SUMMARY:
Rock & Roll Hall of Famer and four-time Grammy nominee Nancy Wilson of Heart joins us to chat about self-penned classics such as "Crazy on You," "Magic Man," "Barracuda," and "Never," as well as her work scoring films, and her upcoming debut solo album, You and Me.

    PART ONE:
Paul and Scott chat about demos, their friends at Pearl Snap Studios, the grand finale of their Women's History Month series, why Nancy Wilson paved the way for little girls to aspire to great guitar heights, and what one Heart song each of them plans to blast after the interview.

    PART TWO: 9:02 mark
Our in-depth interview with Nancy Wilson

    ABOUT NANCY WILSON:
Four-time Grammy nominee and Rock & Roll Hall of Famer Nancy Wilson is best known for her work in the band Heart, which she and her sister Ann helped propel to rock superstardom in the 1970s, thanks to self-penned classics such as “Crazy On You,” “Magic Man,” “Dreamboat Annie,” “Barracuda,” “Little Queen,” “Heartless,” “Straight On,” “Dog & Butterfly,” and “Even It Up.” In the mid-1980s they reinvented themselves as mainstream radio hitmakers with a string of successful singles, including “What About Love,” “Never,” “These Dreams,” “Nothin’ at All,” “Alone,” “Who Will You Run To,” “There’s the Girl,” “All I Wanna Do Is Make Love to You,” and “Stranded.”

Though she has sold over 35 million albums worldwide as a member of Heart, Nancy’s songwriting efforts extend beyond the confines of the band. She has written songs and scores for films, including Say Anything, Jerry Maguire, Almost Famous, Vanilla Sky, and Elizabethtown. She is also a founding member of the bands The Lovemongers and Roadcase Royale. Though she previously released a solo acoustic set called Live At McCabe’s Guitar Shop, Nancy’s debut studio album as a solo artist, You and Me, will be released on May 7th.
