    Le film Empire of Light

Meanderings #292: Movies on Movies -- "The Fablemans" and "Empire of Light"

Meanderings #292: Movies on Movies -- "The Fablemans" and "Empire of Light"

Currently out on Blu-ray is not one, but two different movies that hit theaters last year and deal with, in no small part, movies.  Yes, now available are Steven Spielberg's "The Fabelmans" and Sam Mendes' "Empire of Light."  While both movies are beautiful to look at, only one touches the soul.  Which goes right and which goes wrong?  Let's discuss.

Ant-Man's Quantummania, Wakanda 4K as well as Eight for Silver, Alice Darling, Empire of Light and Picard

Ant-Man's Quantummania, Wakanda 4K as well as Eight for Silver, Alice Darling, Empire of Light and Picard
We're going small for this podcast and talking about the latest Marvel entry at the cinema, Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantummania, the latest Marvel movie on 4K, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, and the question that keeps popping up for most MCU fans - will it ever get back on track after Endgame? I guess with Feige's new 80-year plan he's leaving the answer to that question in the hands of his successor(s). So Mark's going to tell us about what everybody should really be watching right now - Eight for Silver - as well as talking about The Woman King on 4K and why Picard may be good again, Tom will be reviewing Ant-Man and singing the praises of Lockwood on Netflix, whilst Simon's still training for his Rocky 4K collection review. And, apart from Wakanda 4K, I'll be talking about Alice, Darling and Empire of Light, and the final season of Carnival Row.

    MICHEAL WARD - Actor

    MICHEAL WARD - Actor

    Season 2 - Episode 7

Team Deakins engage in a wonderful conversation with actor Micheal Ward (BEAUTY, TOP BOY, EMPIRE OF LIGHT). We cover a lot of ground including discussing his experiences on TOP BOY, working in television vs features and his viewpoint as an actor on a set. Micheal speaks of the importance of authenticity and the responsibility he feels as a black actor to provide opportunities behind the camera for others to learn the craft. He also shares some funny tales of auditioning and animal phobia. You won’t want to miss this episode!
