X-Files creator Chris Carter excitedly approves of Ryan Coogler's reboot

X-Files creator Chris Carter excitedly approves of Ryan Coogler's reboot
Chris Carter, the creative force behind the acclaimed series The X-Files, has expressed his excitement and approval for the upcoming reboot by director Ryan Coogler. Originally debuting in 1993, The X-Files gained immense popularity for its gripping narrative centred around FBI agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully, played by David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson, respectively. The series, known for its unique blend of paranormal investigations and intricate alien conspiracies, became a cultural phenomenon. Despite not being directly involved in Coogler's project, Carter welcomes the fresh perspective and diversity promised by the reboot. Coogler's take on the iconic series, now owned by Disney post the acquisition of 20th Century Fox, is highly anticipated by fans eagerly awaiting the revival of this beloved classic.

The Pursuit of Happiness: What Does HAPPINESS Mean To YOU?

The Pursuit of Happiness: What Does HAPPINESS Mean To YOU?

Ever feel like happiness is a puzzle with pieces scattered in a thousand different directions? That's where Janelle and Eddie come in, piecing together the happiness puzzle with insights from Dr. Laurie Santos' renowned Yale course. Our latest episode is a deeply personal journey into the essence of joy, as we discuss why so many people don't feel as fulfilled as they expect, and why the thrill of excitement might just be a misleading guidepost on the road to true contentment.

As we traverse the landscape of well-being, we tackle the tough question of whether happiness is shaped more by circumstance or perception. Sharing stories of personal growth and examining the pitfalls of chasing novelty, we reveal how a deeper appreciation of our own experiences, combined with special moments of wonder, can enhance our lives. Happiness isn't just about what happens to us, it's about how we frame our narrative, and this episode is all about rewriting that story for a richer, more contented life.

Culture, they say, is the lens through which we see the world, and it's no different when it comes to happiness. In an intimate segment, we reflect on the diverse cultural narratives that shape our pursuit of joy, from my own experiences in a duty-first Asian household to the communal values that overshadow personal bliss in many parts of the world. We also explore the interconnectedness of physical well-being and emotional happiness, examining how the simple act of feeling good can cast a broad glow on our overall state of mind. Don't miss this exploration into what happiness could, and perhaps should, mean for you.

    (00:00) Exploring Happiness and Self-Discovery

(08:12) The Role of Circumstances in Happiness

Chasing novelty can lead to dissatisfaction, but finding contentment in the present and planning special events can enhance happiness.

(13:06) Finding Happiness in Challenging Circumstances

Attitude, upbringing, and education can shape happiness more than external achievements, as discussed in the complex relationship between happiness, circumstances, and attitude.

    (21:23) Cultural Perspectives on Happiness

Culture, upbringing, and societal roles can shape one's pursuit of happiness, while physical well-being also plays a significant role.

    Get Your Hopes Up

    Get Your Hopes Up
As we welcome a new year, let’s get our hopes up. The new year tends to be a fresh hope, a fresh expectation of good and I want to take an episode or two to discuss hope, biblical hope. Not the kind of hope that is backed by unbelief, but backed with a confident expectation. Hope is a good thing when we use it the way the Bible says, and hope does not disappoint.
