How are Christians to respond to the enduring Word of God? Put away & grown up. Put away things that aren't respresentative of who born-again people are and grow up in salvation. Just as you would take off a coat, Christians are to "take off" their old self that's ruled by things like malice, deceit, hypocrisy, envy, & slander. Likewise, Christians are to be like babies who desire/need milk to grow up and be healthy. Believers "grow up" in their salvation by craving the Word of God like a baby craves milk. A person only craves it this way if they have been born of His Spirit.

Unforgiveness brings bondage, breeds bitterness and blocks healing. Forgiveness frees me, frees us and frees others.

The issues of anger and bitterness - bitterness: acid, poison - wrath- fierceness ( breathing hard) - anger- violent passion, vengeance -.clamour- out crying, tumult - malice- wickedness The issue of Anger - It leads to sin - It lingers longer than it should - It opens the door for the enemy Don't start a new day until you have dealt with your anger v. 26 Anger is exponential The issue of Bitterness- acid, poison - in essence is Blame - in experience is a bad taste Causes of Bitterness - parents divorce - unhappy home - the death of someone you cared for - authority figure let you down - frustrating purity battle - a be - situation that doesn't seem far "Bitterness is like drinking poison and hoping it hurts the other person" Think the truth - an awareness of the issue in my heart - an awareness that God didn't cause this - an awareness that Jesus Christ cares and can help you through this Cure for bitterness v.31-32 - kindness - forgiveness Forgiveness truths "Forgiveness Does not make what is happened ok." "Forgiveness doesn't not mean the hurt us gone." "Forgiveness Releases the debt that likely can never be paid anyway." "Forgiveness provides freedom to the one who is hurt."
