After a lengthy absence to to the breakage of my computer, This Week In Detroit Tigers Baseball is back with another wrap on Detroit Tigers baseball action. In this episode:

Paul Wesner of Tigs Town joins us to break down these prospects and talk about Brooks Brown, a righty with the Toledo Mud Hens. Thanks to Paul for bringing TWIDTB some isight from the best Detroit minor league analysis on the net!
Al Beaton and Greg Eno of The Knee Jerks join us to talk about the latest stretch in play and the acquisition of Aubrey Huff.
Finally we wrap up the show with A quote from Dave Dombrowski. I asked him if he was done making moves. You will just have to stay tuned to find out his answer! Remember you can find us on Itunes, and follow us on Twitter as well. Have a great weekend, and Go Tigers!

CCR 72: Training Camp Update with Guests Jeff Otah and Rip Scherer

CCR 72: Training Camp Update with Guests Jeff Otah and Rip Scherer
We are back with Episode 72 of Cat Crave Radio! Training camp continues for the Carolina Panthers but, unfortunately, not without incident. Steve Smith’s shoulder is now the big story over-shadowing last week’s already big story – Kemo’s achilles injury. We not only cover this big story but we check in with some key players we’ll all be keeping an eye on this season – Dwayne Jarrett, Richard Marshall, Tony Fiammetta and Everette Brown. We had a rare opportunity for an extended chat with quarterbacks coach Rip Scherer along with several other media members. He talked to us about Jake Delhomme, the backups and technique. It’s a very insightful conversation. And we got an exclusive interview with Jeff Otah. We talked to the big right tackle about Everette Brown, the team’s depth on the O-Line and the upcoming season.

TWIDTB Episode VII: Put it in a Bag

TWIDTB Episode VII: Put it in a Bag
Welcome back for another addition of this Week in Detroit Tigers Baseball. In this episode, J. Ellet Lambie of Eye of the Tigers and John Brunn of Tiger Geist stop by to talk about this week’s action. In our roundtable, John, J. and I discuss many different things including Jim Leyland’s comments on the fan’s view of performance enhancing drugs, the offensive production at the top of the order, John Smoltz, Al Avila’s debut, waiver wire talk, and much much more, including J. Ellet Lambie’s dream to stuff Ryan Raburn in a bag (Okay, maybe not! Still, his points on the outfield situation are dead on!) In This Week in Detroit Tigers History, we look back to August 12th 1987, when the Tigers traded Doyle Alexander for John Smolz. A trade that will always resonate in the heads of Detroit sports fans. John Smoltz was dealt to the Braves after Atlanta declined interest in taking any of the four original prospects offered. It came between starters John Smoltz and Steve Searchy. The Tigers decided to keep Searchy because he was more major league ready. Looks like that decision will haunt the Tigers for quite some time, considering Smoltz’s lengthy and successful career In our Prospect on the Prowl segment, a little known shortstop named Brent Dlugach has made a name for himself at the AAA Level. After years of injury problems, the 26 year old might have found himself in just the right place, with Adam Everett and Ramon Santiago entering free agency in the off-season.

CCR 71: Training Camp Report with Guests Chris Gamble and Ross Tucker

CCR 71: Training Camp Report with Guests Chris Gamble and Ross Tucker
Cat Crave Radio has returned!! What a week! The Carolina Panthers have officially begun their season in Spartanburg, SC at Wofford College. We were there to cover the beginning of training camp Like everyone with press credentials, we chased down every single interview we could get. There were lots of opportunities to speak to the players and we got the chance to talk to Chris Gamble one on one with no one else around giving us an exclusive that not even the big boys got. We also had a chance to speak to Ross Tucker of SI and Sirius Satellite Radio fame about the coming season and to pick his brain on our Panthers. Some of the players we spoke to included Steve Smith, Jake Delhomme, Muhsin Muhammad, DeAngelo Williams, Ma’ake Kemoeatu among many others. Training camp is a great time of year and it appears, having seen the process from behind the scenes, that the members of the press bring up topics to numerous players keeping it going for a while. Early this week, one such topic got rolling and found a life of its own. We have a complete run down for you. This made for a very interesting segment. It’s all in the show. Give it a listen and feel free to comment below. Oh, yeah, one more thing…you can now subscribe to our show in iTunes! And one more thing…give us a follow over on Twitter. Thanks for listening! Enjoy!

TWIDTB Epiode VI: Catching up with a Lefty

TWIDTB Epiode VI: Catching up with a Lefty
This Week in Detroit Tigers Baseball is back with more Detroit Tigers Baseball talk for the week of August 3rd through the ninth! In this edition of This Week in Detroit Tigers Baseball, we chat with former Tigers lefty Mike Maroth. Maroth shares with usPhotobucket how his current rehab is going, and shares some moments about his time in the old english D. You can find what Mike is up to on his website, marothbaseball.com. Mike and I also talk about Alan Trammell, his relationship with former pitching coach Bob Cluck, and how hard it was moving on to St. Louis after being traded in 2007. Thanks so much to Mike for joining us, and as mentioned in the interview, we are in his corner and hope to see him in a Major League uniform in 2010. On the Panel this week is two newbies! Hey, don’t worry though, Sean Heyboer of Trumbull and Michigan and Big Al Beaton of Waynefontes.com hold their own against TWIDTB’s voice of reason, Mr. Greg Eno. Topics this week include Jarrod Washburn, Joel Zumaya, deadline talk, The Cleveland Indian Series, and the Carlos Guillen factor. Thanks to the guys for all of the great insight! In our This Week in Detroit Tigers History segment, we look back to August 10th 1966, when Tigers manager Chuck Dressen passed away during the season. The Tigers would go through three managers in a very short span. A very interesting situation that could have changed the history of Detroit Tigers Baseball if it didnt happen. Finally, we wrap things up by looking at the upcoming schedule and pitching probables for the Orioles and Twins series.
Remember, you can always drop us a line about the show through our twitter page, email address, or our voicemail hotline at 231-683-1367. I’d love to hear from you! Enjoy episode six, and have a great rest of the Week.

TWITB Episode V: Hey, Can I get a Bat!

TWITB Episode V: Hey, Can I get a Bat!
This Week in Detroit Tigers Baseball is back! After a week hiatus, it feels good to be back in front of the microphone, talking about the team we love! Joining us in episode five was J. Ellet Lambie of Eye of the Tigers and Greg Eno of The Knee Jerks and Greg Eno.com. Thanks again to both guests, who as always, brought great insight on what is happening in the world of Detroit Tigers Baseball. Topics this Week include: Struggling Offenses, The New York Yankee and Seattle Mariner Series, Joel Zumaya, Brandon Inge, Trade Options, and much much more. Just a note; we are not all idiots. Matt Holliday had not yet been traded when we talked about his availability. Our Prospect on the Prowl this week is Casey Crosby of the West Michigan White Caps. The Tigers liked him so much that he was not available, much to the Athletic’s dismay, in the Matt Holliday trade talks. Hope You enjoy the show, and remember you can find our Itunes subscription by searching Detroit Tigers in Itunes

CCR 70: Guest - David Scercy

CCR 70: Guest - David Scercy
Episode 70 of Cat Crave Radio has arrived! There is a little news from our Carolina Panthers but the start of training camp will be here in only 11 days - then we can all rejoice at the return of football! The trip we began through the blogosphere, checking in with Panthers bloggers everywhere, brings us David Scercy of Panther Coalition. Of course, we got his opinions of Julius Peppers and just how he feels the ‘09 season will go for the Panthers.
Boom or Bust returns as David stuck around with us for a few minutes. He got the same ten guys we gave last week’s guest so we hope you’re keeping score. There’s a Rant or Rave also. Call this one the random edition. Some of the news lately is too strange to be a lie so we had to dive in. And, finally, because Michael Vick is no longer in prison and is awaiting word from the commish on his NFL future, we checked in with a number of talking heads to get their take on what the league should do about him.

TWITB Episode IV: Now Pitching, Rick Knapp

TWITB Episode IV: Now Pitching, Rick Knapp
This Week In Detroit Tigers Baseball is back with a brand new episode, despite the struggles at the MCB Headquarters. In this week’s installment, Greg Eno, J. Ellet Lambie, and John Brunn join me to talk about this week’s action and the news surrounding our Tigers squad

Matt Wallace was also kind enough to join us for the prospect on the prowl segment, where Matt profiles Futures game member Scott Sizemore.

Topics include: Rick Porcello’s missed start, Carlos Guillen, Jeremy Bonderman, The All-Star Game, Brandon Inge’s push to the top, Luke French and more.

In this week in Detroit Tigers history, the year was 1911. Ty Cobb and Sam Crawford were doing their best impression of Roger Maris and Mickey Mantle (the fore fathers?)

    NOTE:

Episode four was recorded before Brandon Inge was named to the All-Star team. We know that Inge made it now :)

MCB also now has a feedback line! Feel Free to call us anytime with your opinions and comments at (231) 683-1367. Our Voicemail is standing by!
