Eric was puking up blood (from all the drug/alcohol use) for three days and laying on his bathroom floor when Jesus showed on the scene. He was as broken as it gets.
He went on to become a high-level combat Marine and fought in the Iraq War.
Jesus showed up powerfully again to Eric during a moment of complete misery while working in the business world.
Then, a prophetic word landed Eric in seminary.
Now, he is the founder and leader of The Alliance to End the Fatherless Epidemic, a large-scale ministry to end the fatherless epidemic and Outdoor Adventures, a nonprofit created to end fatherlessness through mentorship.
Check out The Fatherless Epidemic Documentary 2023 to understand what Eric and his team are working to eradicate.
Eric understands two verses well:
Psalm 34:18: “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit”.
James 1.27: “Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world”.
You do not want to miss this incredible story of a life transformed and the love of a Father.
Father to the Fatherless
46. Fostering with Megan Miller
Megan & Christian Miller have 6 biological children, 2 children adopted internationally, & welcomed 30 kids into their home through foster care.
I’ve had it on my heart to do a podcast about fostering for 9 months & hit obstacle after obstacle.
Can’t wait to see what God does through Megan’s story…
💜 “Anybody can do it. Some people aren’t called to foster, but you can help a foster parent, & you’re still taking care of the fatherless.”
💜 "I’m not a saint - I’m just doing what I’m called to do.”
💜 "15 years ago I would have said, “I’m not fostering.””
💜 "God can do so many things, if you just open your heart up to it.”
💜 "Had we not fostered, we would never have had the additional family we call our own.”
💥 “It’s not like we were created to live lavish vacations & lifestyles & live on cruise ships.
No, we are here to disciple, love, & plant the foundation & seeds for our children & people.”

Father Wounds - S3, E11
To close out season 3, Jada sits down for a candid conversation to discuss the impact father wounds have on our daily life, our relationship with God, and how to move forward in a healthy way. Check out the full episode of anything you might have missed this season!
Hell, God's Wrath and Judgment Day. Part 2 - Why Talk About Them? What is the Wrath of God and From Where Does it Come?
Having seen that Jesus can save us from the coming wrath, we shift our focus to understanding what wrath is and why God has it. The answer is rooted in a fundamental principle of values, that whatever we love and are passionate about, we also hate its opposite, the thing that opposes it. To put it more simply, if you love love, you're going to hate hate, and no one loves love more than God.

Justice
Today we are going to take a look at Isaiah 1:17. Isaiah is laying out for us an understanding of Justice and what it looks like in the Kingdom of God. There is the oppressed, the fatherless and the widows. These are the vulnerable and often overlooked. What does justice mean for the church today?
The music on the podcast is from John Nugent. John is a Chicagoland area musician who has been a real blessing to Tabor Church.

As an indie podcaster, that would mean the world to me!
In Ed's words: "I have an insatiable appetite for learning about all things, but more specifically, why people do what they do. "What" people do is self-evident, as they wouldn't be doing it if it wasn't achieving some time of payoff. The "why," however, is far more interesting.
This appetite for learning was born out of my father dying when I was 13. Wanting to make him proud, I poured myself into academic and professional pursuits that, ultimately, left me feeling dissatisfied with life. I knew there was more and I started my quest to find out what that was.
Having had an "on again, off again" relationship with God most of my adult life, I decided to engage in consistent, quiet self-reflection. If there was a God, I thought, I would hear His whisper. And I did.
Today, I am an unabashed Christian (not a Bible-thumping one), and his faith serves as the foundation from which he treats others and conducts business. I am a published author and researcher, public speaker, podcast host, award-winning educator, and business coach/consultant who is fiercely passionate about individuals and businesses realizing their full potential.
I hold multiple degrees, including a Doctor of Management in Organizational Leadership, a Master of Science in Psychology, and a Master of Arts in Organizational Management. I am also holds certifications as a Master Coach in Life Transformation and as a Certified Resilience Practitioner.
Most importantly, I'm humble. I know there is always more to learn and am committed to finding out what that is."

Damian White - Sociology, Masculinity and Homelessness
This was an interesting conversation with a man who grew up with no male role model in his life and studied the sociological impacts of masculine role models has on young men. He went through several ups and downs in his life (including being homeless for several months) on his way to finding his voice through poetry.
Damian White is a writer from Columbus, OH. He is the author of the poetry book, I Made A Place For You, which is his debut collection. After battling two bouts of homelessness, he channeled those experiences into poetry as a way to heal a fractured identity.
