    Esther and Prurim

    Esther and Prurim

Ever feel like you know a story so well there's nothing left for you?

That can be the experience of some when they think of Esther. It's a classic Bible story told in children's ministry. However, there's more there that we can glean if we watch closely. Jamie shares how the story of Esther has more to give and offers a good reminder of who God is, as well as a familiar tie-in with the feasts.

    Feasts 5: Booths

    Feasts 5: Booths

What do tents have to do with a feast?

It's not family camp, at least not exactly. Jamie walks us through the final feast as we consider the purpose and implication of the Feast of Booths. Also known as the Feast of Tabernacles, we learn how this celebration brings our thoughts back to God's desire to be with His people.

    Feasts 3 Weeks

    Feasts 3 Weeks

    Ribbons and first-fruits?

Jamie takes us back again as we examine the feasts of Scripture. This episode, Jamie dives into the feast of Weeks and showing us how it relates to Pentecost and us today. Don't miss out on the depth that can be found in some of the more obscure parts of God's redemptive history.

    Feasts 2

    Feasts 2

     Let's eat!

We're back at  it again with Jamie walking us through the feasts of Scripture. This episode dives deeper into the connection between the feats and their Gospel counter-part found in the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus. This episode will deepen your appreciation for how intentional God is.

    Feasts

    Feasts

So what's the deal with feasts?

Sometimes, details in the Bible can feel like strange esoteric artifacts of a bygone era. However, we believe in the usefulness of the whole Bible so there must be something there we can learn. Jamie lays a foundation for what feasts are and why we should pay attention to them in the Bible.

The Freedom to Discipline - Audio

The Freedom to Discipline - Audio
Paul is having his plans changed in Ephesus. He says, “No, I need to get to Jerusalem this time,” it’s not because he’s thinking he’s saved by the Law. That’s not at all his thinking. He’s taking the personal exercise of discipline, the vow, the understanding he has with God in this season serious. He told God, “I’m going to do this vow in this season of my life. I’m going to make it to Jerusalem as a way of saying thanks for your faithfulness!”

What Does The Bible Say About The Lord's Supper #2?

What Does The Bible Say About The Lord's Supper #2?

Fred and Arnie continue their discussion of what the Bible says about the Lord's Supper by noting the examples of New Testament disciples observing it. We begin in Acts chapter 2 on Pentecost, showing that Pentecost actually occurred on the first day of the week. We explain why that is so and note the passages that refer to the observance of the Lord's Supper. Acts chapter 20 is the next written occurrence and includes the specific day of observance. We include a discussion of the significance of the event where Paul raised an individual up from being dead. We return to the Corinthian letter where Paul again corrects the disciples there for their abuse of the Lord's Supper memorial.  We complete this episode by examining Jesus' Bread of Life sermon in John chapter 6 in order to show that this sermon is not about the Lord's Supper, as many seem to think. Take about 30 minutes to listen in on our discussion. Have your Bible available so you can make sure we are following what the Bible says about this important subject. A transcript of our discussion is provided for your convenience.

    Pentecost - Pastor Bill - May 27, 2020

    Pentecost - Pastor Bill - May 27, 2020
I can’t imagine going through a year without celebrating two of the most important events on our Christian calendar - Christmas (the birth of Christ) and Easter (the resurrection of Christ). But there’s another event that sometimes gets overlooked - Pentecost. This day celebrates the descent of the Holy Spirit on the 120 in a backstreet upper room waiting for God’s promise to be fulfilled. Before Pentecost, they were in fear. After Pentecost, they were courageous. Also, they were equipped and empowered to continue the ministry Jesus began, in the very city where Jesus was crucified. What made these believers move from fear to faith?
