#2 Kari Rose’s Story: Making The Choice To Change Your Life And Love Every Minute Of It!

#2 Kari Rose’s Story: Making The Choice To Change Your Life And Love Every Minute Of It!

In this episode I had the pleasure of talking to Kari Rose. Kari Rose is a Transformational Healer with a mission to work together with you to enhance your life with the energy, clarity, joy and health you so desire. Kari shares her journey from her earliest memory of her life to today.

She explains what her childhood was like and some of the struggles of having a separated family. She started taking care of herself at a very young age. Kari has been a helper and a fixer through her whole life. There is a theme of making a choice in our conversation. She made the choice to better herself at a time when she didn’t know if she could keep going. Kari didn’t follow the same patterns as others in her family and changed the addiction cycle.

After many hurdles she ran multiple businesses and became an entrepreneur. Her entrepreneurial journey was not easy and she had experienced burnout. Despite everything she has gone through she loves life and what she does!

Throughout our conversation Kari provided us with lots of golden nuggets and advice on how to keep going when things get difficult and messy.

If you want to get in touch with Kari or learn more about her you can contact her on Instagram @karirosehealth or her website https://karirosehealth.com/

#52 Listen to your heart: Why and how to get in touch with your true self with Gayathri Shukla

What you thought was impossible or extremely difficult is possible. Where do you start making your dreams a reality? With pen and paper.

Gayathri is a mom, engineer, leader of digital innovation programs in her professional role as an engineer as well as a Board volunteer at Calgary Immigrant Women's Association. She is passionate about applying her skills and knowledge to harness our rich diversity as Canadians. She has set out on a mission to unlock the power of empathy, both for ourselves and for others, through storytelling. Gayathri believes that by celebrating our unique stories, we can re-imagine and discover our purpose. And when we share our stories, we realize that no matter where we come from, we are united by our collective narrative of human resilience. Recent times have proven just how complex our problems are, and will require of us to bridge divides and leverage the full suite of our human qualities like curiosity, compassion, and creativity to solve them. Gayathri believes that the small act of sharing our stories, as she does in this episode, will encourage others to follow their own dreams while inspiring a sense of community. #50 The Love & Lessons in Loss: Stories about Staying in the Moment and Feeling Held with Hana Mari Mäkinen

#50 The Love & Lessons in Loss: Stories about Staying in the Moment and Feeling Held with Hana Mari Mäkinen

This episode shares valuable life experiences for anyone grieving the loss of a loved one, pet, freedom or hope. One of the stories Hana shares here is an experience with her father, who was slowly slipping away due to alzheimer's (this is something I, too, am currently dealing with). Here is part of what Hana shared:

"All I had was each moment and conversation - in the now. And there were days when some of those nows were extremely painful, but I was like, I'll deal with my emotion after. I want to give him everything I've got because I want to literally savour this moment to the depths... to create a memory.

He and I would have conversations, and I was like, Oh! There's Dad! Oh, there's his alzheimer's. Oh, there's his spirit. And I would find ways to make him laugh. I just wanted to spend time with this man who was slipping away from me and treat him with love and respect."

    Other topics discussed include:

    • Pet loss
    • Openly communicating about grief
    • What is grief
    • Ways to cope with loss
    • There is no wrong way to grieve
    • How to find the beauty and joy in grief
    • Considerations for those dealing with past trauma from loss of a loved one
    • Ways to cope with and support an aging loved one

#39 3:30am Storytime with Lyndsie Barrie: Her Vision for FempreneurLand

#39 3:30am Storytime with Lyndsie Barrie: Her Vision for FempreneurLand

What wakes you up at 3:30 am? For me, it is usually ideas of how I want to improve the ways I serve Fempreneurs. On Sunday, February 14th I woke up at 3:30 am, and after an hour on my mental hamster wheel of exciting thoughts, I practiced what I preach. I grabbed my cell phone, opened the voice recording app, and recorded my thoughts which I decided to share in this podcast episode. February 14th was the final day of my 10 days reset break during which I reflected on the progress I've made and where I am feeling called to focus my attention and action. This episode also addresses the question I hear often: "How do I actually connect with the amazing women in the Fempreneur Community?".
