You Can’t See What You’re Not Looking For

You Can’t See What You’re Not Looking For

Patti defends Baltimore’s City Connect choices – it’s high concept, people. We discuss booing by fans AND by moms (We don’t like it but it seems to work for Trea). Adley goofs off at the MLB flagship store. Luke Raley strikes out Vladdy, then gets lit up. Christopher Morel can’t stop raking. Craig Kimbrel reaches a milestone. In the Police Blotter, The Dodgers apologize to the Sisters, Glen Kuiper gets fired for his not-really-a-flub, and Aaron Boone keeps on getting tossed, this time for “expectorating.” Summer collegiate leagues are starting, and Broxton Rocks Marika Lyszczyk becomes the first woman in the Futures Collegiate Baseball League. Good luck to Venezuela’s Francys Sandoval, the only girl playing in the 12U Baseball World Cup.

We say “It’s a very light toddy,” “Take backsies and a spit take,” and “you can’t say holy shit to that.” Fight the man, send your game balls to Meredith, and find us on Twitter @ncibpodcast, on Facebook @nocryinginbball, Instagram @nocryinginbball and on the Interweb at nocryinginbball.com. The Stars Were Bright, Fernando

    The Stars Were Bright, Fernando

Tatis, Jr. has disappointed his teammates, his coaches, and perhaps most terrifying, Abba-singing moms. We discuss the suspension, maturity levels, and the need to make better choices. Skye Bolt needs to make better choices for breakfast, but “leaves it all on the field” for the As. Jeurys Familia leads us to discuss if players can earn their way off the never gonna be a boyfriend list. Solomon Bates comes out and gets an indy ball gig. Advocates for Minor Leaguers checks Manfred’s math and it does not turn out well for the Commissioner. Paul Goldschmidt, J.T. Realmuto and Bryce Harper join Team USA for the World Baseball Classic, and you can watch women’s world cup qualifiers right now. We say, “Don’t eat things that are suspect,” “Assistant Captain America,” and “Anzoategui,” again.

Patti Gets an Omar Vizquel Do-Over

Patti Gets an Omar Vizquel Do-Over

Pitchers and catchers reported last week so that means we’re back with the COVID numbers, the Blue Jays staying south of their border, and baby steps to fans in the stands. NCiB poster boy Fernando Tatis, Jr. is a Padre for life, and forces us to do complicated math. Pottymouth generously tries to cut Brett Gardner some slack, but Patti will have none of it. Thanks to Johnny Damon and Ryan Ellis, we’ve instituted a Police Blotter segment. Zach Britton stands up for women, and sees no reason to cut domestic abuser Domingo German any slack.

Venezuela provides our Cleveland boyfriend picks, with Pottymouth claiming veteran Cesar Hernandez and Patti hoping for an Omar Vizquel do-over with Andres Gimenez. Infield Fly Girl coaches us into our Cubs picks. Pottymouth selects back-up catcher Miguel Amaya, leading us to muse that we, like Amaya, would totally follow Willson Contreras around. Patti cries into her coffee over Ian Happ and a kind gesture by the Cubs.

Wash your hands, wear your masks, watch your distance, get your vaccine as soon as you can, and fight the man.
