    I Don't Drive Cars Anymore

    I Don't Drive Cars Anymore

Miles Chaney offers some thoughts about a concept that many of us encounter in our daily lives. Sometimes, people are overwhelmed by the vast amount of religions, denominations, and practices that characterize people's beliefs. Any number of reasons can cause people look for other forms of worship, or leave their faith entirely. How do we respond when their crisis of faith causes them to give up?

Even if you have slipped away from the Lord, He has never forsaken you.

If you are lonely today, run to the One who has never and will never forget you. If you have been hurt by others, run to the God who has promised to always be with you. If God is calling you to a new ministry, remember that He will be with you.

As the Psalmist looks back over his life, he becomes convinced of one thing. He has never seen God fail or abandon His people.

Yet, God never promised a problem-free life.

You may have experienced a season of hard times. Times when it felt like your friends deserted you, and you felt as though you were standing all alone. You may have even felt like no one cared. It is during those times that you find as a follower of Christ, He is with you.

    What is church community

    What is church community

Today we talk about community. What is it? Can it be "virtual"? Specifically, what does it mean to be part of a Church Community, why it's not just important but essential. God calls us to not forsake the gathering....

      • What is church community?
      • Using the terms, Family, Church Community and Church Family are often used synonymously.
      • Will Christian's come back to "in-person" church after the Rona era? Can you have true community remotely?
      • The very definition of "Community" has changed since the advent of automobiles, which enabled individuals and families to easily relocated from one area to another area of the country... and the definition changed even more so with the Digital Revolution of the internet, where "on-line community" became a thing.
        • Instead of community primarily being centered around family, church and villages (as it had been for millennia, where people don't generally have a choice), people started creating and defining their own communities based around interests and affinity - where they could easily enter and exit the community and where very little was required of them.
        • We don't choose the family we are born into and this is the deepest and God intense for this to be our most central and deepest community, followed secondarily by our church.
      • Jesus units everyone [in church] under the same banner... and creates a community out of people who likely wouldn't know each other or be friends with each other, if not brought together by Christ.
      • Lots of people have left the church in 2020... and COVID seems like the scape goat and justification to stop going to church.
      • We are not meant to live in isolation: Digital sermons & "online-community" can supplement real community but is not an adequate replacement.
      • Listening to the preached word, is only one aspect of why God calls us to be part of the church and not "forsake the gathering" of God's people.
        • We gather for corporate worship to hear the preached word, prayer and communal worship... and that can't be done digitally or remotely.
        • God doesn't give us the option to not gather / not participate in the gathered church - Jesus came to earth to die for His Bride, The Church... so if you hate "the church", you hate what Jesus loves and came to die for.
      • Community is messy: You will be hurt and you will hurt others but it's still worth the risk because God didn't design us to be "solo Christians".
      • Be safe but safety is not the most important thing in life... get back into the habit of meeting with fellow believers and your church community. God created us to need each other.

Provision In The Time Of Famine - Paul M. Williams

    1 Kings 17:1-16

We are living in incredibly difficult times and difficult times call for times of encouragement!! Biblical encouragement is not airy fairy sentimentalism but rather is rooted and grounded on the steadfast faithfulness of a God who is able to sustain and provide for His people in times of great need!! You don’t need me to tell you that we are living in times of great famine. The preaching and teaching of truth is seldom to be heard in our land. Yet…the same God who was able to keep His people in the wilderness for 40 years, providing them fresh manna morning by morning is able to also feed His people! The same God who commanded the ravens to feed His faithful servant Elijah is the same God who will also feed us in the time of famine!!

This sermon is an exhortation to God’s Saints and a testimonial to the faithful mercies of a covenant keeping God who though He leads us into the wilderness, is able to sustain His beloved children.

Lesson 198 - Only my condemnation injures me.

∞ Today we come still nearer to the end of everything that yet would stand between this vision and our sight. And we are glad that we have come this far, and recognize that He Who brought us here will not forsake us now. For He would give to us the gift that God has given us through Him today. Now is the time for your deliverance. The time has come. The time has come today. ∞

∞ Correction must be left to One Who knows correction and forgiveness are the same. With half a mind, this is not understood. Leave, then, correction to the Mind That IS united, functioning as one because It is not split in purpose, and conceives a single function as Its ONLY one. Here is the function given It conceived to be Its Own, and not apart from that Its Giver keeps BECAUSE it has been shared. In His acceptance of this function lies the means whereby your mind is unified. His single purpose unifies the halves of you which you perceive as separate. And each forgives the other, that he may accept his other half as part of him. ∞ T27-II The Fear of Healing

    Fearless Week 45: Lamentations 5

    Fearless Week 45: Lamentations 5
This week we finish up out study in Lamentations with Lamentations chapter 5. We talk again about the suffering of Jerusalem brought on by their sin. We look at Jeremiah crying out for God's mercy, however the book ends with Jeremiah uncertain, if perhaps the people have fallen too far away from God to be forgiven. We then talked about how we know that Jerusalem rises again, and we look at some other pieces of scripture that let us know that God will never forsake us forever.
