    What we’re Enjoying

Shua finally received his comic book from Jack in the Box called The Return of Mark Hamill. This free souvenir is a total blast. A really funny interpretation of Hamill’s early job and eventual return as a Jack in the Box drive thru employee. He’s also been playing around with the new feature on iOS 16 that automatically selects a person, isolating them from the background. Jay has been indulging in Advil from his big move. But also catching up on the brilliant Star Trek series Lower Decks. A fun, creative, animated take on the Trek universe.

    Lost Boys and Fright Night

    Lost Boys and Fright Night

Vampires have been around for ages and some still look good after all those years. Case in point, the vampires from both of the movies we look at tonight hold up pretty well for their age as do their respective movies.

Over 35 years later, Lost Boys and Fright Night still both hold up as modern vampire classics!

Listen in and out what the Dads think of both films!

Episode 31: Fright Night (1985) - Vincent Half Price

Episode 31: Fright Night (1985) - Vincent Half Price
Peter and Phil talk through the classic 1980s (and it is VERY 1980s) vampire movie Fright Night. One of us has a deep connection to the movie from childhood and the other discovered it as an adult. We discuss the characters, actors, behind the scenes stories, the special effects, that iconic poster and we get quite hot under the collar talking about how sexy Chris Sarandon is. Let us know what you think of the film!

Movie Meltdown - Episode 579 (For our Patreon "Horror Club")

Join us as we discuss Fright Night, the 2011 movie directed by Craig Gillespie and featuring Anton Yelchin, Colin Farrell, David Tennant, Toni Collette, Christopher Mintz-Plasse and our beloved Imogen Poots.

And as we consider recording our future episodes in Romania, we also bring up… Fright Night 2, Death on the Nile, Todd & the Book of Pure Evil, Midori, setting yourself on fire, Ginger and Peter, new build suburbs, Marti Noxon, religious weapons, McLovin, the shark from Jaws, Kenneth Branagh, more real world then we want to think about, the best product placement I’ve ever seen, racing the sun, the PTSD that these kids are going to have, I gauge everything against Celine Dion, unscrupulous vampire dating, single dude home decor, as battle axes go, the coming events of Revelations, lesbian vampire seduction scenes, being orphaned by an undead creature and a lot of questions about insurance.

Spoiler Alert: Full spoilers for the 2011 version of “Fright Night” - so go watch the movie before you listen.

“Yeah this movie reminded me so much of my senior year of high school.”
“‘Cause you were killing vampires right and left.”

Hi-Ha-Hilarius! Heks Sylvia | NH Radio

    GeekAgenda050: The Day After Tomorrow...Today!

In which Thom & Andru attempt to re-write history with Aaron Lyons and Jordan Monsell of Pulp Shakespeare, talking remix culture, meta-humor, artistic multitasking, and using Tarantino as a gateway drug to the world of the Bard. Also on the menu: the shrinking of action stars, the mathematics of viral videos, the incomprehensible weapons policy of Renaissance Faires, and the latest attempt by the sun to destroy us all (Emmerich film to follow). Music by Her Majesty’s Secret Players.
