Piedmont, Wyoming - The Ghost Town Where Butch Cassidy Stayed

Lois Christiansen & Wendy Peterson still live within walking distance of the Ghost Town of Piedmont, Wyoming where Butch Cassidy met with his lawyer to help a friend facing a murder trial. In 1869, angry railroad workers forced dignitaries headed to the Golden Spike Ceremony in Utah off the tracks and held them there until they were paid.  We ask our interviewees what it's like living and growing up in this remote spot so close to a ghost town that played a big part in Western History.

SCARED TO DEATH IS EXPLICIT IN EVERY WAY. PLEASE TAKE CARE WHILE LISTENING.

Dan kicks off with the story of a young woman around a century ago in a mining town who reaches out to the other side to try and communicate with her dead father and brother. And she contacts SOMETHING. Then, a latchkey kid encounters a special kind of terror that makes spending time alone at home even harder than it already is for a young child. Lynze has two awesome stories this week. The first could be considered a reminder about being wary of what you buy second hand. Then the second story is a bit less creepy but still a great story about an abandoned brothel.

The mission of Sustainable Alamance is to focus on and help individuals who were formerly incarcerated gain and sustain employment  so that they may not only live within the community constructs but to also contribute to society as well. Sustainable Alamance has this quote on their website and I just love it: Poverty is not a lack of money but a lack of resources. We believe that you can “give a man fish” (charity) and even “teach a man to fish” (grace and mercy) but we must also ensure access to the lake (hope and justice). TPPP 100: Al Madam | The Ghost Town that Makes your Fear of Quicksand a Reality, Possibly...

The 100th episode of The Possibly Paranormal Podcast brings us back to some ghost towns, but into a new area of the world for us! Al Madam is a ghost town in the middle of the desert in the UAE. As a result, the sand has almost completely reclaimed this town. But, maybe it did all of this before the people had a chance to leave? I guess we'll find out.

Listen to Davis give us a quiz on the various acronyms we could come across, everything from medical to texting with your BFF. Listen to Jake talk about the sand trying to claim the lives of some of the visitors, or maybe it's something more than sand? And listen to Lisa give us a massive history lesson on the Djinn, something you didn't know you needed to worry about.

Don't let the sand get in the way of you listening to this episode. It can really easily take over before you even know it. And don't let the Djinn out of your sight, unless you have to, because the can become invisible. Then just be careful. Learn all about them, the sand, and the ghost town of Al Madam in the 100th episode of The Possibly Paranormal Podcast. TPPP 100: Al Madam.

    City Of The Dead

SCARED TO DEATH IS EXPLICIT IN EVERY WAY. PLEASE TAKE CARE WHILE LISTENING.

Dan kicks off with two big stories today. Heading to Japan for the first one, to visit a Ghost Island. A very unique place. This one had us all twitchy! And then, we stay in Asia but travel all the way to Afghanistan to cover a collection of supposed sightings from some US Marines. Some really INTENSE sightings at a place once known as Observation Post Rock. Lynze presents us with a new horror character we have yet to meet, the pichal peri. What kind of creepy experience is there to share! And then, a death in a hotel room connects two people who quite possibly were never meant to meet. Is a ghost bringing them together? You decide.

New Merch:  You asked for it and it's here. Official DJ Honey merch in store now featuring me, DJ Honey. TPPP 60: St. Elmo, Colorado

    TPPP 60: St. Elmo, Colorado

Abandoned towns filled with the past memories of what used to be. The western part of the US is filled with them. And so we ventured our way into one of the more well-known and still standing ghost towns in Colorado, St. Elmo. No it is not named for the patron saint of Sesame Street, nor is it named for the 80s movie starring Rob Lowe. No, this town gets it's name from something crazier.

Listen to Lisa give us the history of a family that not only spent all of their lives there, but also stayed around long after the town had ceased to really exist. Listen to Jake tell us stories about how this family continues to live there to this day, getting angry at rule breakers. And listen to Davis as he gives us a quiz surrounding City Slickers and The Ballad of Buster Scruggs.

This ghost town is only the second of our four part series all on the pioneering times of westward expansion in the United States. Next week's episode involves one of the more infamous cryptids and their supposed location. But, until the, be sure to hear all about this paranormal ghost town.... Possibly.
