    Cate Blanchett in 'Charlotte Gray'

We are in the final stretch of the podcast series. This week it's another of Cate Blanchett's many titular roles and Charlotte Gray (2001). In this episode Murtada discusses Gillian Armstrong's World War II film, the many loving close ups she affords Balnchett and whether the film works as both a sweeping epic romance and a narrative about life in occupied France during the war.

Hosted, Produced and Edited by Murtada Elfadl.

    Little Women

    Little Women

This is one of our favorite stories, exploring the world created by author Louisa May Alcott. Barb gives a brief overview of this author's transcendentalist upbringing and her inspiration to write the novel "Little Women". We compare and contrast both Little Women movies directed by Gillian Armstrong (1994) and Greta Gerwig (2019). These movies follow the main protagonist Jo March and her three sisters (Meg, Beth and Amy) during the American Civil war era in Concord, Massachusetts. Wine, restricted corsets and the dreamy Christian Bale all play prevalent roles while we analyze our favorite movie(s)!

50 - The Hateful Eight, Carol, Mommy, Women He's Undressed

In our fiftieth review episode (there's fifty of these things? Oh God) Bernadette questions whether this podcasting thing is worth it. Andrew is - of course - no help. After reading some great iTunes reviews (thanks!) we finally get in to discussing this weeks films...

Quentin Tarantino's eighth film, the violent Western epic, The Hateful Eight. Todd Haynes Patricia Highsmith adaptation Carol gets a look into the love life between Cate Blanchette and Rooney Mara. Andrew's fifth best film of 2015 Mommy gets discussed in depth. Finally, we get dressed up in Orry-Kelly's sublime costumes in Gillian Armstrong's documentary, Women He's Undressed.
