On the Road Again by Canned Heat

On the Road Again by Canned Heat
    Label: Liberty 56038
    Year: 1968
    Condition: M-
Last Price: $20.00. Not currently available for sale.

Here's a beautiful copy of this classic blues rocker, built on a riff made famous in 1949 by bluesman John Lee Hooker. This single is an edited version of a 5:01 album cut. The B side appears to be a non-album track. Note: This 45 record comes in a vintage Liberty Records factory sleeve. It grades very close to Mint in appearance (Labels, Vinyl), and this styrene pressing has amazing, pristine Mint audio! This is very well mastered record... great ear-candy.

She's About A Mover by Sir Douglas Quintet

She's About A Mover by Sir Douglas Quintet
    Label: Tribe 8308
    Year: 1965
    Condition: M-
Last Price: $25.00. Not currently available for sale.

Here's a beautiful copy of the single that Dave Marsh ranks at #491 in his list of the 1,001 greatest 45s of Rock'n' Soul. And don't neglect the terrific B side... also essential Sir Douglas Quintet! By the way, this was a non-album single until Tribe released a "Greatest Hits" LP in 1966. Fortunately, that LP contains both of these great tracks. Note: This 45 record has Near Mint labels. The vinyl (styrene) looks only lightly touched. Miraculously, the fragile grooves preserve pristine Mint audio, both sides! The only notable flaw is a small scratch in the deadwax and label of the A side.

    One Night Affair by O'Jays

    One Night Affair by O'Jays
    Label: Neptune 12
    Year: 1969
    Condition: M-
    Price: $20.00

This was the group's first single recorded in the ascendent "Sound of Philadelphia", with Gamble, Huff, Thom Bell, and Bobby Martin at the helm. And it was a helluva indication that something great was about to come out of this old vocal group. Just listen to the unusual (for 1969) intro to the track, and then they follow up with that beat! Just superb Soul music! Note: This beautiful copy grades close to Mint in appearance (Labels, Vinyl). The audio sounds pristine Mint!

    Love Song by Artistics

    Love Song by Artistics
    Label: Brunswick 55326
    Year: 1967
    Condition: M-
    Price: $30.00

You can't do wrong with either side of this terrific single, which somehow escaped notice at Pop and Black/RnB radio when released in 1967, but I took a quick fondness to the B side ("Love Song"), which as I suspected is not available from the iTunes store or other online services. Have a listen to the mp3 snippet, and I hope it grabs you like it did me! (Never neglect to listen to a single's B side. Even though it's called a "single," nearly all of them (except for many promos) have at least 2 songs on them. Very often, the B side proves the test of time better than the A side, or it turns out to be deserving of as much attention as the A side at the least.) Note: This copy comes in a vintage Brunswick Records factory sleeve. The Mintish labels have a small "K" inked on them. The audio sounds pristine Mint. (This scan is a representative image from our archives; this copy does not have a drillhole.)

One Tin Soldier by Original Caste

One Tin Soldier by Original Caste
    Label: T-A 186
    Year: 1969
    Condition: M-
    Price: $12.50

This is the original version of the song produced by the songwriters themselves, not the one (recorded by Coven) that became the theme song from 'Billy Jack.' Frankly, this is not only the original, but also by far the best, version. Be sure to check out the uptempo, Northern Soul-style dancer on the flip. Note: This beautiful copy comes in a vintage Bell Records factory sleeve. The labels have a clean drillhole making them Near Mint. The vinyl (styrene) also grades Near Mint. Fortunately, the grooves preserve pristine Mint sound! (This scan is a representative image from our archives--the copy for sale has a drillhole)

    Come Dancing by Kinks

    Come Dancing by Kinks
    Label: Arista 9016
    Year: 1983
    Condition: M
Last Price: $14.00. Not currently available for sale.

From a warehouse find, these are new, unplayed copies. A well deserved hit from the early 1980's, this was the Kinks' last visit to the U.S. top 10. The A side is a specially edited version of the 4:34 album track, while the B side is a previously unreleased, non-album cut. Note: This beautiful copy comes in a Near Mint picture sleeve. It has no notable flaws, grading Mint across the board (Labels, Vinyl, Audio).

Time Waits For No One by Friends of Distinction

Time Waits For No One by Friends of Distinction
    Label: RCA 0385
    Year: 1970
    Condition: M-
    Price: $10.00

This is absolutely brilliant early 1970s Soul, Philly-style. The uptempo A side is a Neil Sedaka cover and, amazingly, an excellent remake of a Guess Who song on the flip. The A side is specially edited from a 3:20 album track. Note: This beautiful 45 record comes in a vintage RCA Records factory sleeve. It grades very close to Mint across the board (Labels, Vinyl, Audio).

    I'm Still Dancing by Presidents

    I'm Still Dancing by Presidents
    Label: Sussex 207
    Year: 1970
    Condition: M-
    Price: $14.00

As if the A side of this classic Van-McCoy-produced Philly Soul single weren't great enough, I don't think a lot of soul fans are aware of how delicious the uptempo B side is! So... because it's also one of my personal 5-star records, into the Classic 45s jukebox it goes!

I Fought The Law by Bobby Fuller Four

I Fought The Law by Bobby Fuller Four
    Label: Mustang 3014
    Year: 1966
    Condition: M
Last Price: $36.00. Not currently available for sale.

This is one of the records, along with some of the early Beatles and many others, that demonstrated one way that rockabilly transitioned into a musical form that became known as Power Pop. Absolutely essential single — note that both Rolling Stone (#177) and Dave Marsh (#102) put it high on their respective lists of the greatest singles ever made. Great B side, too! Note: This beautiful copy has Mint labels and pristine sound. The vinyl looks almost untouched.

    Walk-Don't Run by Ventures

    Walk-Don't Run by Ventures
    Label: Dolton 25
    Year: 1960
    Condition: M-
Last Price: $30.00. Not currently available for sale.

I've put a snippet of this great surf instrumental in the jukebox because it occurred to me that while it's one of the most famous and most recognizable tunes in rock history, there are probably a lot of folks who don't know what it's called. This will help put two and two together. Plus, it's always a joy to hear again! Note: This copy comes in a vintage Dolton Records factory sleeve. It looks Near Mint and has pristine Mint sound.

It Won't Be This Way (Always) by King Pins

It Won't Be This Way (Always) by King Pins
    Label: Federal 12484
    Year: 1963
    Condition: M-
    Price: $26.00

Here's a beautiful copy of this early Soul vocal group single. These guys were walking down the same musical road that some of their Motown brothers in groups like the Temptations and Miracles were walking, and both sides are truly special. The A side is a midtempo toe-tapper, while the flip is a soulful ballad. Their sound still has some of the vocal ideas from Doo-Wop, but there's equal part ideas from Gospel. Have a listen to the mp3 "snippet"! Note: This 45 record comes in a vintage King Records factory sleeve. It grades very close to Mint across the board (Labels, Vinyl, Audio). (This scan is a representative image from our archives.)

Is It Something You've Got by Tyrone Davis

Is It Something You've Got by Tyrone Davis
    Label: Dakar 605
    Year: 1969
    Condition: M-
    Price: $14.00

This irresistable single was Tyrone Davis' second chart hit... and his second top 10 hit as well, following up the wonderful "Can I Change Your Mind". If you own only 2-3 Tyrone Davis singles, be sure this is one of them! Note: This beautiful copy has no notable flaws, grading Mint across the board (Labels, Vinyl, Audio).

    Soul-Limbo by Booker T and the MG's

    Soul-Limbo by Booker T and the MG's
    Label: Stax 0001
    Year: 1968
    Condition: M-
    Price: $16.00

This copy came from a warehouse find, and I suspect there is a drillhole under the "Certified Gold Standard" sticker on the label. Aside from this label flaw, the vinyl is Near Mint from storage wear, and the audio is pristine Mint! (NOTE: This scan is a representative image from our archives, the copy for sale has a factory sticker as described above.)

Free At Last (Great Day A-Comin') by James Barnes & The Agents

Free At Last (Great Day A-Comin') by James Barnes & The Agents
    Label: Golden Hit 101
    Year: 1968
    Condition: M
    Price: $15.00

From a warehouse find, this is a new, unplayed stock copy. Great, rousing Gospel-style Soul... the flip is an instrumental version. As far as I can determine, there was no album associated with this single. If you like Deep Soul, this is a 2-star recommendation for you (our highest). Check out the mp3 "snippet"! Note: This beautiful 45 has Near Mint labels (see scan). The vinyl looks untouched, and the audio sounds pristine Mint!

A Raggedy Ride by Barbara Acklin

A Raggedy Ride by Barbara Acklin
    Label: Brunswick 55412
    Year: 1969
    Condition: M-
    Price: $18.00

Two great Northern Soul sides... in full Stereo! (Stereo didn't become standard for U.S. 45s until 1973.) Note: This copy comes in a vintage Brunswick Records factory sleeve. It has Near Mint labels with a manufacturing defect on the A side. The vinyl looks Near Mint with a few light scuffs, and the audio grades the same with just a touch of surface noise in spots. (This scan is a representative image from our archives.)

    I'm Still Dancing by Presidents

    I'm Still Dancing by Presidents
    Label: Sussex 207
    Year: 1970

As if the A side of this classic Van-McCoy-produced Philly Soul single weren't great enough... I don't think a lot of Soul fans are aware of how delicious the uptempo B side is! So... because it's also one of my personal 5-star records, into the Classic 45s jukebox it goes! Note: This beautiful copy has Mint labels, and the vinyl (styrene) looks almost untouched. The A side audio has a hint of wear, grading Near Mint, while the B side ("Dancing") has pristine Mint audio... a real treat!

    Someone's Coming by Who

    Someone's Coming by Who
    Label: Decca 32362
    Year: 1968
    Condition: M-
Last Price: $26.00. Not currently available for sale.

This is an especially beautiful copy of this especially great Who single. Besides the classic A side that everyone knows and loves, you get a superfine, quite catchy Entwistle rocker that hardly anyone knows on the flip side. Check it out! Note: This 45 record comes in a vintage Decca Records factory sleeve. It has Near Mint labels and nearly untouched-looking vinyl. The astounding audio is pristine Mint, both sides! (This scan is a representative image from our archives.)

    Keep On Dancing by Gentrys

    Keep On Dancing by Gentrys
    Label: MGM 13379
    Year: 1965
    Condition: M-
Last Price: $14.00. Not currently available for sale.

A must-have dance number from 1965! Note: This beautiful copy comes in a vintage MGM Records factory sleeve. It grades Near Mint across the board (Labels, Vinyl, Audio), with only very minor flaws, including a drillhole through the label. (This scan is a representative image from our archives.) The audio is loud and proud, with a touch of light underlying noise in the quiet portions (which are few in this song!)
