    Sports

    Sports

Sports and competition seem to be engrained in most of us. Taylor used to think he wasn't athletic or competitive, but as time has gone on, he's come to realize that he is actually competitive (not with a team) and he is athletic too! Nicole, ironically, also didn't realize that she was as athletic as she is. She also seems to think she isn't that competitive. She's come around to the idea that she is, in fact, quite competitive. So much so her heart rate gets going when she watches any sport. (Live or on tv) We dive into our appreciation for athleticism, going to sporting events (and all the food that comes with going), being aware of our traits, participation awards, the sports we played growing up, and what sports we want to try to like!

    Being Excited

    Being Excited

Sharing your excitement outwardly can be intimidating to some and a cakewalk to others. We share some stories on how we've grown through bad habits of hiding our feelings and excitement. While this can be quite a polarizing idea, with a little bit of work, we all can improve ourselves and be more genuine/outwardly emotive. We are striving to be better about that. After all, life is short and why not be excited about whatever it is that gets you excited!?

    Doing Things Alone

    Doing Things Alone

Doing things alone is a highly personal preference. Nicole likes it. Taylor doesn't. We dive into why we think those preferences were formed. Nicole really likes her new(ish) Sunday morning routine. While Taylor will do just about anything to make sure someone else is involved on whatever he's up to. We take a couple side quests into traveling, working, baseball games, and more!

Episode 46 - Croissants, Cream of Tomato and Chelsea's Baby

Episode 45 has all of the best bits of kmfm Breakfast with Garry and Chelsea.

This week had a shocking sparkly discovery that could change fancy dress forever and Chelsea's Whatsapp Group Chat took a superhero twist. There was Big Brother OUTRAGE involving a house favourite that led to some equally despicable noodle news from the people of Kent. Cream of tomato had a frosty revamp, crack-a-snack proved unsolvable and slow dumping is the new dating trend to be wary of. Swale borough council need your help for their new bin lorries and Medway reached n.o.1 (for zombies.)

From animal awakenings to Chelsea's baby, feast on it all in this week's episode of the Breakfast Buffet Podcast with Garry and Chelsea.

    Perfection Paralysis

    Perfection Paralysis

Perfection paralysis can truly be a crippling headspace to find yourself in. Whether you're a creative or not, it can be detrimental to your productivity. We talk about whether or not it's actually perfection paralysis for us or the fear of the unknown, how being too creative or creating too much can be good and bad, what our "big childhood dreams" looked like, and the whole episode kind of turned into some life-changing realizations and inspiration for Nicole.

    Supporting Each Other

    Supporting Each Other

No one wants to fail, but when you do, it's good to have someone around to help you learn from your failures. In this episode, we talk about how we try, succeed, and fail to support each other. We share some of our secrets on what works to get each other out of a bad mood and when to “let it simmer”, how working with your life partner goes, why doing things your bad at can be a good thing, and how failure can actually render some of the best results.

Episode 6 - Could time in green spaces transform your life? The importance of nature for people in the Middle East

Episode 6 - Could time in green spaces transform your life? The importance of nature for people in the Middle East

Continuing our environment series, we explore how spending time in nature can have dramatically positive effects on people's health and happiness. But just how many people are actually getting out and about into green spaces? We'll also look at why Hollywood is making so many cinema remakes and the bizarre link between glitter and the Manhattan Project.

Checking In (With Yourself & Others)

Checking In (With Yourself & Others)

Checking in is something that is often overlooked and taken for granted. As we talk about how we check in with ourselves, each other, and those around us we find that the differences in everyone make it a tricky task to find our pulse. Self care is an important side quest of checking in and so is remembering where you came from and where you're headed. You may not always like what you see, but the acceptance, care for yourself, and desire to improve are what matters most! P.s. Taylor has been called back to his obsession with Pokémon. We dive into that and our relationship with instant gratification as well.

    Working Together

    Working Together

Some think we're crazy for working together, others admire how well it works. There may be a few that are envious, but we're here to tell you that you are capable of working with your significant other if you try hard enough! We talk about how we feel about working with friends and family, our work life balance (or lack thereof) and how we are able to manage not going completely insane while working with each other all day every day.

    Curiosity (Always Learning)

    Curiosity (Always Learning)

As the saying goes… Curiosity killed the cat. While that may be true, curiosity is what fuels our creativity more than anything else. We talk about what type of students we were (and probably still are) and how that's impacted our lives, whether subtitles are good or bad, nicole's sleep complex, reading (and what things we like to read), our fears of memory loss, and how we stay curious.

    When to Push Ourselves

    When to Push Ourselves

Pushing yourself can be hard. Sometimes, motivation requires focus; and sometimes that focus is near impossible to find. We talk about what works and doesn't work for us when it comes to pushing through working out, creative blocks, deciding when to support each other, and more. Special note: wear ear plugs at concerts please! Here is a link to some that Taylor (a professional audio engineer) recommends: https://amzn.to/3OEp7qo

    Dealing with Emotions

    Dealing with Emotions

Dealing with our own emotions is hard enough. What happens when you are dealing with your own emotions and then you have your significant other's too? In this episode, we talk about how we deal with emotions, how we've coped with excessive pressure to perform and produce work, how we communicate and support each other through it, and how a change in scenery and discomfort can actually help.

    Our Favorite Movies and Music

Movies and music play huge rolls in our lives. In this episode, we talk about our favorite movies and music, and dive a little deeper on why some of these movies are so important to us. We prepared for this episode in secret from each other. The movies on our lists will most definitely surprise you (and us). The music, on the other hand, might be a little bit more predictable. …or is it?

Comparison: The Thief of Joy and Creativity

Comparison: The Thief of Joy and Creativity

If comparison is the thief of joy, why do we do it? Why do we compare more now as adults than we did as kids? Will Taylor ever roller skate? How did we overcome poisonous productivity? We talk through these questions, comparing to: our previous selves, social media, being triggered by weight loss, and more. We look at what causes us to compare, the roll perspective plays in it, and what turning it into appreciation can do instead.
