Lisa Whittle: Resting in the Fact God Knows

Lisa Whittle: Resting in the Fact God Knows

Lisa Whittle is a best-selling author, speaker, teacher and podcaster but my favorite attributes about her are that she is a Pastor's kid who loves Jesus, is real, and is kind. With all she has going on Lisa has always found a way to pause and encourage me throughout the years and it has been a tremendous blessing to me. I'm so grateful she made time to jump on the podcast and talk about her new book "God Knows" and the companion study "Your God Knows" while also sharing some life wisdom on ministry and motivations.

Have you ever felt you had no idea what you had to offer that God could use? Have you feared you were missing the mark and letting God down? Lisa's stories and encouragments will give you a more hope-filled perspective.

What Does the Bible Say About Responsible Christians?

What Does the Bible Say About Responsible Christians?

In this episode, Arnie and Fred discuss responsible Christians. We begin by noting what Jesus said in His parable generally referred to as the Parable of the Talents. We look at how His parable includes what we call in the episode, Responsible Christians. We answer the question, How Much Responsibility Do I Have? There is a formula that is expressed in what the Bible says in a number of places, and we look at that. We discuss the fact that God knows our capacities and the unfortunate truth that we many times underestimate them.  We begin to address a number of our responsibilities and run out of time to complete that subject. Tune in the next episode to listen to more of this subject. Take about 30-minutes to listen in on our discussion. Have your Bible handy so you can verify what we are saying. There is a transcription provided of this Buzzsprout episode for your convenience.

    Check Your Heart

    Check Your Heart

Today we explore some verses that I brought up yesterday in our new series. Jeremiah 17:9-10 talks about the human heart. We like to say "Follow your heart!" but that can lead us to places that we'll end up finding hurt or giving it out. Check your heart!

Appearances Can Be Deceiving | Ep. 60

Appearances Can Be Deceiving | Ep. 60

We begin this podcast by looking at the revelation found in 1 Samuel 16:6-7 and the difference between how man sees and judges and how God sees and judges. Beware of the base and fallen inclination of man. We should not be so quick to judge, especially before the time, because what may not be apparent presently, may actually be found on the day of the Lord.  For good and for evil, the deception is real. We need to trust that when it all comes down to it, we need to wait on the Lord and trust His judgment because He alone knows the hearts of men. We also need to trust when He judges. Let's not get ahead of His judgment because appearances can be deceiving.

The End (of the year) is Near

The End (of the year) is Near

At the end of the year we can start thinking about the end of the world or Jesus coming back. People create conspiracy theories and try and set dates...it's all a foolish pursuit. Today we are going to look at Mark 13:32-37 and see what Jesus says about all of this.

    Towards a Peaceful Christian Home

    Towards a Peaceful Christian Home
Marriage was not man’s idea, but God’s idea and it is the oldest institution on earth. In our world today, marital values are being eroded and many families are filled with tension. Everything that is happening today is a reflection of what has gone wrong in families. As Christians, we cannot pretend as if everything is alright. God is calling us to go back to the basics and seek His face so that He can lead us towards a peaceful Christian home. Jesus in any home makes a whole lot of difference, without Him leading and taking control, man’s efforts will amount to nothing

Smyrna: Encouraging Words for Tough Times - Audio

Smyrna: Encouraging Words for Tough Times - Audio
Christ commends the church at Smyrna as it endures persecution and promises to carry it through the hard times. We are reminded that He walks among us. His penetrating eyes see all things. He knows every detail and situation of his church, individually and corporately. He assures them that He knows what they are going through. He knows their circumstances: their trials, their poverty, and the slander against them. He also knows their persecutors: the Jews, but ultimately Satan. He encourages them to trust Him. He literally says, “Fear Nothing!” Be faithful to the end. He promises to reward those who remain faithful.
