    Bluey: S1E35 - Zoo

    Bluey: S1E35 - Zoo
It’s time to play zoo. Chilli is the mom, Bingo is the kid, Bluey is the zookeeper, and Bandit is the gorilla. Bandit is less than enthusiastic to play so Bluey prods him with a pool noodle to try to get him to move a little bit for the guests. It doesn’t work too much so they move on. But Bingo is intrigued and climbs into his cage where they develop a relationship. After the zookeeper notices, she grabs the hose and hoses Bandit down to try to stop him, but Bandit grabs Bingo and hops the fence in a beautiful slow motion masterpiece. The two end up on the run before a banana lures Bandit out of hiding and into captivity. The zookeeper recognizes the bond that they share though and while Bingo is sad as she goes to bed, Bluey brings the gorilla back to Bingo so they can share the love they have for each other. A strangely beautiful episode where the kids learn about the beautiful possibilities of what could have happened had Harambe lived.

Dave and Ethan interview Camilla Henneman, the visual effects artist who built the iconic fat suit from Weird Al's "Fat" music video. Camilla's astounding career didn't stop at working with Weird Al, she also built the Slimer and Nunzio Scoleri suits from Ghostbusters II, Meat Loaf's suit from Fight Club, as well as monster and gorilla suits for such movies as George of the Jungle, Harry and the Hendersons, Gorillas in the Mist, and Cocoon. Amazingly, Camilla also worked on the makeup and appeared as a zombie in Michael Jackson's legendary "Thriller" video!

A Future for African Apes with Gregg Tully | S1E9

The bushmeat industry, the illegal pet trade, rampant habitat loss, and much more. All of these combined would wipe out ape and monkey populations across Africa if it weren't for the organizations at the frontlines of conservation. Chief among them is the Pan African Sanctuary Alliance (PASA), a US-based nonprofit created by African primate sanctuaries to coordinate species-saving efforts around the continent and help craft a more secure future for all African apes- bonobos, chimpanzees, gorillas, & humans. Join us for this episode of Talking Apes with Gregg Tully, Executive Director of PASA, as we unpack the challenges and complexities of building this future for apes.

Talking Apes is the podcast that gets to the very heart of what is happening with and to apes like us. We explore the world of apes and primates with experts, conservationists, and passionate primate people from around the world. Join us as we unpack their weird and wonderful lives piece by piece.
