Final Friday: Camp Blood 4 (2016)

Final Friday: Camp Blood 4 (2016)

A group of friends stop over at Camp Blackwood prior to going to a concert only to be stalked by a killer in the campgrounds.

The Camp Blood series has been one of our favorite low budget slasher series to watch. It's always been a joy to kick back and watch a clown killer in the woods with the boys and a couple of beers. Camp Blood 4, however, is just not it. The pacing and feel are completely different from the previous 4 movies and it doesn't have the same charm. It's possible others may disagree, but we highly doubt it. 193 - Scream 3 (2000) Review

    193 - Scream 3 (2000) Review

A Ghostface killer has returned and is killing off the set of Stab 3, the 3rd installment of the series based off the Woodsboro murders. Sydney and her friends arrive at the set to try and put a stop to the murders.

We've long said that Scream 3 was our least favorite of the series, but it's still a fun movie. The cast of crazy characters we know and love are back and the theme of the murders happening to the cast of Stab 3 makes for an interesting sequel. While it doesn't have the same parody elements, unique kills, and wild twist as the first two movies, Scream 3 is still a fun watch in its own right. Our friends, Nick and Matt, join us to discuss Scream 3.

    192 - Terror Train (1980) Review

    192 - Terror Train (1980) Review

3 years following a prank gone horribly wrong, 6 college students throw a New Year's Eve costume party on a train where they are targeted by a masked killer.

Terror Train has a classic 80's horror revenge feel to it and delivers a strong twist, which had us impressed. Jamie Lee Curtis, gaining a reputation as a scream queen at this time, stars in this movie following Halloween, The Fog, and Prom Night. With strong performances in all, she delivered in Terror Train as well as the remaining cast in a very engaging horror revenge movie that had an element of mystery. Final Friday: Jack Frost 2: Revenge of the Mutant Killer Snowman (2000)

Final Friday: Jack Frost 2: Revenge of the Mutant Killer Snowman (2000)

Jack Frost is back following the police officer who put him away to an island for his revenge.

Jack Frost 2: Revenge of the Mutant Killer Snowman may actually be crazier than the first movie, if this was even possible. With an odd set of characters, crazy kills, and the snowman with the wild puns, this movie leaves your jaw on the floor with just how bizarre it gets. It's a crazy movie that we did enjoy more than the first and it will keep you entertained all the way through.

    191 - Violent Night (2022) Review

    191 - Violent Night (2022) Review

After a wealthy estate is being raided by mercenaries for a fortune secured in a vault, Santa must save the family and Christmas.

Violent Night may not be considered a horror movie, but it's a dark, bloody, action movie that has some crazy kills and is a fun ride. There's something great about seeing a badass Santa beating the heck out of mercenaries in an effort to save Christmas. David Harbour stars in Violent Night and does a great job in bringing a disgruntled yet somewhat hopeful Santa Claus to life as he kills criminals to grant a young girl her Christmas wish.

    Final Friday: Jack Frost (1997)

    Final Friday: Jack Frost (1997)

While being transported to his execution, murderer, Jack Frost, is killed in a snowy accident leaving him in genetic material. As a result, he's converted into a killer snowman bent on revenge.

Jack Frost is as ridiculous as it sounds. Actually, if it was just a killer snowman that would be even easier to comprehend. However, this killer can change between solid and liquid states and it's truly crazy. The kills, Jack Frost's one-liners, the quirky characters; this is one of the wildest Christmas horror movies out there.

190 - Silent Night, Deadly Night 3: Better Watch Out (1989) Review

190 - Silent Night, Deadly Night 3: Better Watch Out (1989) Review

A young blind woman is stalked by killer, Ricky Caldwell, who wakes up from a coma, and who she shared a psychic connection with.

Silent Night, Deadly Night 3: Better Watch Out is the 3rd movie we are reviewing this Christmas season and it's also the 3rd sequel in a series we argue doesn't need sequels. This film is definitely odd and features Bill Moseley as the re-casted Ricky Caldwell who hates everything about Christmas. He's a character who escapes a hospital and walks around town in a hospital gown, slippers, and an exposed brain. There are so many unanswered questions, but it's a wild ride. Watch the movie and catch our review.

Final Friday: Don't Fuck in the Woods 2 (2022)

Final Friday: Don't Fuck in the Woods 2 (2022)

The Pine Hills Summer Camp counselors discover a girl covered in blood while they prepare camp and are soon met by what's following her.

Don't Fuck in the Woods 2 is a huge upgrade from the first movie in just about every way. This movie had interesting characters, an engaging story, and it was also funny. It was a fun watch all the way through and even made us excited for a potential 3rd movie. With a unique spin on a trope of sex in the woods in horror movies, this film was a great surprise. 189 - The Mean One (2022) Review

    189 - The Mean One (2022) Review

After Cindy sees her parents murdered by a green monster in a Santa costume, she seeks revenge despite the town disbelieving her story.

The Mean One takes the whole story of The Grinch and adds a horror element to it while avoiding using the name of "The Grinch" throughout the movie. The movie starts David Howard Thornton as the Mean One, who may look the part, but this film is far from scary. There's a lot to be desired with this movie, but it's nothing short of entertaining to say the least. Watch the movie and catch our review.

    188 - Rare Exports (2010) Review

    188 - Rare Exports (2010) Review

Buried deep within the Korvatunturi mountain, is a highly coveted secret that lures several parties to excavate it. Christmas this year will be a little different.

Rare Exports is a cult classic for a reason. For a movie that has flown under the radar, it really packs a punch and is a completely different type of Christmas story. It takes the viewer on an adventure to the Finnish-Russian border to experience a new type of Santa and elves you'll never want making your toys. Watch the movie and catch our review.

Final Friday: Call Girl of Cthulhu (2014)

Final Friday: Call Girl of Cthulhu (2014)

When virgin artist, Carter, develops feelings for a call girl, she is selected to be Cthulhu's bride and summon an ancient one. It's up to Carter to stop a group of cultists and their leader from their plot to doom the world.

Call Girl of Cthulhu was a welcome surprise. It was a joy to see a nice comedic spin on the Cthulhu mythos. The film had a great set of characters and had a charm that we really enjoyed. We were very happy to give this one a watch as it was a fun ride all the way through. Watch the movie and catch our review.

Final Friday: We Found Something (2022)

Final Friday: We Found Something (2022)

Brother and sister, Ted and Maxie, go on a rock climbing trip in order for Ted to overcome previous trauma. However, the footage recorded of their trip depicts they encountered something far worse.

We Found Something combines two types of horror movies we love: found footage and creature features. This movie had a bit of a build up, but does have a few twists that we couldn't predict. One particularly that we could have never seen coming. Watch the movie and catch our review.

    186 - M3GAN (2022) Review

    186 - M3GAN (2022) Review

A robotic doll is created to not only be the next big toy, but to also be a parent figure and friend to a young girl. However, this robot starts defying her programming.

M3GAN was a big horror, sci-fi release last year and positioned itself at a time where AI has slowly been taking over and scaring the heck out of everyone. The movie was part horror, part comedy and sometimes hard to distinguish which genre suited it best. Ultimately, this robot plants a notion into all of our minds; that one day we will be replaced by AI. Our friends, Tim and Becca hop on the podcast to discuss M3GAN and clarify a few pressing topics: how much does this robot really weight, did it take a week to create it, and how did Cady's parents not know their car was not 4-wheel drive.

    184 - Get Out (2017) Review

    184 - Get Out (2017) Review

A young black man visits his white girlfriend's family for the weekend and his suspicions of how he'll be received pales in comparison to their real plans.

Get Out is Jordan Peele's first horror film and what an effort. This movie is a thriller from beginning to end and keeps the viewers at the edge of their seats. It's conceptually brilliant and the pace continues to pick up throughout the film. It also features incredible performances from Daniel Kaluuya, Allison Williams, Bradley Whitford, Catherine Keener, Caleb Landry Jones, Lil Rey Howery, and Stephen Root. Although we believe Jordan Peele's 2nd movie, Us, is a bit better, Get Out is a phenomenal movie that doesn't lose its luster after multiple watches.

Final Friday: The Crooked Man (2016)

Final Friday: The Crooked Man (2016)

Upon returning to her hometown after 6 years following the death of her friend that many believe she responsible for, Olivia believes the recent murders are the effort of a supernatural force from her childhood.

The Crooked Man greatly surprised us. When watching, we assumed we were getting a stupid supernatural horror cliche. However, it was a fun movie that added a creepy entity with interesting lore and an engaging story to follow. Of course, there are some questionable pieces of the movie that need to be called out. For instance, why does the entity glitch or why is Michael Jae White throwing rocks? In any case, the movie was better than expected and we enjoyed discussing it. 183 - Hellraiser (1987) Review

    183 - Hellraiser (1987) Review

A woman discovers her dead brother-in-law come back to life as a bloody, skeletal form and honors a request to help rejuvenate his body in order to escape the demonic entities who are after him.

Hellraiser is the final movie we are reviewing in Spooky Season and it is long overdue. The Clive Barker classic still holds up today as an excellent horror movie featuring great practical effects and creepy characters. This film provided viewers who were used to the likes of Jason, Michael, and Freddy with a completely different experience, showing that ultimate pleasure comes with a cost. Scott "Huckman" joins us this episode to discuss Hellraiser and close out Spooky Season. Watch the movie and catch our review.
