    Batman - Rogues Gallery

    Batman - Rogues Gallery

A hero is nothing without the people they face. In fact, some would argue you're not truly a hero until you have a main villain who tries to oppose your daily justice activities. But I would say that makes you a true hero is how you relate to the people you go against and what you try to do after you apprehend them. How do you connect with your adversary and what makes them unique to your heroism? Batman is a prime example of this analogy because the relationship he has with his villains builds immense controversy and makes people wonder why he hasn't taken them out for good. Let's dive deep into their dynamics and define what makes their affinity so unparalleled.

The 90s Batman Movies, Part 2: The Bat-Nipples Era
Welcome back to our series on the 90s Batman movies! In this episode, we'll be discussing the controversial Joel Schumacher Batman movies. These films took a very different approach to the Caped Crusader, with neon-colored sets, over-the-top villains, and yes, even bat-nipples on the Batsuit. But despite their flaws, these movies still have a devoted fanbase and offer a unique take on the Dark Knight. Join us as we dive into the world of Batman Forever and Batman & Robin, exploring the highs and lows of these polarizing films.

And yes, we will be talking about Bat-Nipples.

The 90s Batman Movies, Part 1: The Burton Era

The 90s Batman Movies, Part 1: The Burton Era

In this episode, we kick off our 2-part series on the Batman movies of the 1990s by taking a deep dive into the Tim Burton-directed films. We start by exploring the impact that Burton's Batman (1989) had on the superhero movie genre, and how it paved the way for the darker, more serious tone that many subsequent comic book adaptations would adopt.

We then move on to discuss the film's cast, including Michael Keaton's portrayal of Batman and Jack Nicholson's iconic turn as the Joker. We examine the themes of duality and identity that run throughout the film, and explore how Burton's distinctive visual style and use of practical effects helped to create a truly memorable Gotham City.

From there, we move on to Batman Returns (1992), the sequel that saw Burton and Keaton return to the franchise, and how the film continues to resonate with audiences today.

Throughout the episode,  we examine how the films fit into the wider context of the 1990s, and what their legacy has been in the years since.

Join us for this deep dive into the world of Tim Burton's Batman, as we explore the characters, themes, and production history of these groundbreaking films.

    Batman Returns (1992) - Part 1

    Batman Returns (1992) - Part 1
In this week's episode we return to Gotham City for part 1 of our deep dive into Batman Returns. Tim Burton's darker retelling of The Dark Knight stunned movie goers and critics alike and the journey to screen is equally as fascinating as the film itself. Listen in to hear about the film, its journey to screen and the fact that we almost didn't get Michelle Pfieffer as Catwoman and so much more.

    136: Meow. | Batman Returns (1992)

Wow, what a steamy version of Batman and the gang that I never realized until watching and discussing all these years later. Bruce Wayne and the caped crusader are my all time fav comic hero so I'm jazzed to talk all things Gotham.

Me and Mikey, (my resident comic nerd friend) get all into the controversy surrounding the themes in this film, the amazing casting and alternate choices, and pretty much talk for an hour about how Michelle Pfeiffer is fucking LEGEND.
