Susan Marks, Flourish Coordinator, Daniele Flickinger, Director of Flourish Mentoring + Camilla Williams, co-founder of Relay Exchange Inc., all have one special thing in common. Each one of these women have a unique love and commitment to serve the women in their city.  Each week they travel to share God's word with women who have been subjected to the sex industry and are looking for ways to transition back into normal life rhythms. In today's episode Susan, leads a conversation with Daniele + Camilla around what it means to offer Jesus to new people in new places. They recount their own testimonies from every Tuesday, when they gather to serve and advance the Kingdom through love, kindness and discipleship in God's word. This episode is an encouraging word for all of us to be mindful of both, the narrow boundaries we set for ourselves and how to be Spirit led in breaking those walls down.

Ep 92. The Secret Life of Pinecones

Ep 92. The Secret Life of Pinecones

This week's episode is about the secret life of pinecones and cones- the fascinating fruits of conifers. We chat about the ingenious design of the encasement of woody cones and how they pollinate and protect seeds.

Then wrap up with a reflection on native Rhododendrons (Rhododendron maximum) we came upon on our way to Blue Mountain Lake, part of the Delaware Water Gap Recreational Area.

And, a personal note about Jolee, our rescue dog, and kind passersby who expressed concern seeing me walking without her, demonstrating the difference we can make by recognizing when something or someone is not the same.

A Tree Older Than the Grove

A Tree Older Than the Grove

A tree grew here before the grove
its age is twice as great
the shifting earth has gnarled its roots
wind and frost have parched its leaves
      people scorn its withered outside
no one sees its fine-grained heart
but when its bark is stripped away
      what remains is real

Worlds Shocking Stories - Bohemian Grove - USA

Have you ever been a part of a club or perhaps wanted to join a club?

This club most likely is not for you.

Only the elite and wealthy are members, and there are theories and controversies of what goes on here.

No, there isn't waterskiing, smores by the campfires or basket weaving lessons. Instead, there might be sinister acts like sacrificial ceremonies, rape or even devil worshiping at this camp.

But on the flip side, it could just be a bunch of men getting drunk and forgetting the world for a little while.

Listen to this episode and find out your own theories of this hush hush club. A club we would gladly not be a part of.
