I Remember Halloween and Halloween and Halloween

Brad kicks off our special Halloween episode putting Nicki and Alex in the most important listicle we've ever made.  He then forces Alex to talk about Halloween on Halloween but they're still friends.

    Episode 77 | Halloween H2O (1998)

    Episode 77 | Halloween H2O (1998)

⛸ "This summer, terror won't be taking a vacation" or so they say with Halloween H2O, which was oddly released at the beginning of August 1998, which marks this week as the film's 25th anniversary. Of course, we at The Cherry Picker like to celebrate Halloween 365 days of the year, so now is just as good a time as ever to revisit this nostalgic little darling. In this episode, we really deconstruct every aspect of Jamie Lee Curtis's initial triumphant return as Laurie Strode, where we talk about everything from the film's extremely flawed production, the 90s Scream influence, and why this is the arguably the best version of Laurie Strode. And as always, you should also stick around til the end so you can help us choose which character you think deserves to die the most.

Halloween H20: Does It Hold Up?

It's time for a new episode of The Arrow in the Head Show, and in this one, the show's hosts John "The Arrow" Fallon, Lance, and Tyler, are looking back at the first Halloween movie to ignore previous sequels after part two. It was also the first to bring back Jamie Lee Curtis. Halloween: H20, how does it hold up now that the Gordon Green trilogy has ended? Let's find out.

SERIES SYNOPSIS: After many years behind the scenes, we've decided to take our sarcastic, booze-influenced style into the video age with The Arrow In The Head Show! Hosted by John Fallon, aka The Arrow and Lance, we will dig into not only the newest horror flicks hitting the big and small screens but also delve into the good, bad, and ugly of horror from the golden ages of the '80s through the underrated 90s and maybe a bit beyond.

    Episode 17 - Reel Halloween

    Episode 17 - Reel Halloween

It’s Halloween season, and we’ve marathoned through all eleven Halloween / Michael Myers movies in preparation for the release of Halloween Kills, in theatres and streaming on Peacock today (Friday the 15th).

Before you dive into this exciting new movie, join us in our dysfunctional review of the entire franchise. We’ll let you know what we think of this run of movies, yes, what we really really think! And, we’ll also give you advice on how YOU can marathon through them, there are 5 different ways (we’ve termed it “Choose Your Own Michael Myers Adventure”).

So, get out your masks, your ridiculously huge (fake) chef’s knife and a bowl of popcorn and have a laugh while we walk through all 11 Halloween franchise movies.

048: "Michael Myers. It's like twenty years ago, right?" | Halloween H20 (1998)

048: "Michael Myers. It's like twenty years ago, right?" | Halloween H20 (1998)

For our actual Halloween episode we had to review this suuuper 90s version of the Michael Myers saga.

There are so many aspects of this film we overlooked as teens. We get into the insane timeline of the series, why this Josh Hartnett film debut is really something, and how Jamie Lee Curtis will always be our original scream queen.

    Episode 18 - Halloween Extravaganza Part 8 - Halloween H20: 20 Years Later

    Episode 18 - Halloween Extravaganza Part 8 - Halloween H20: 20 Years Later

In a bold move the next installment of the Halloween franchise, Halloween H20, completely disregards the events of 4, 5 and 6 and presents itself as a direct sequel to Halloween Part 2, which I'm not mad about that whole story line had become really convoluted.  We also see the return of Jamie Lee Curtis which is a nice treat, as well as the introduction of Josh Hartnett.  A decent addition to the franchise we had a good time covering it.

Jamie Lee Curtis: Halloween H20: 20 Years Later (1998)

Jamie Lee Curtis: Halloween H20: 20 Years Later (1998)

We continue our Jamie Lee Curtis retrospective with Halloween H20: 20 Years Later, her celebrated return to both the horror genre and this franchise in particular. We have a lot to say about the film as it's quite flawed and makes some odd choices throughout. The body count is low, and the mask changes partway through the film into something you might find at a pop up Halloween store. The film introduces Josh Hartnett and his messy hair baggy clothes combo to the world, and we see a young Joseph Gordon-Levitt get a skate to the face. Everything with Jamie Lee Curtis is quite good and she makes a traumatized Laurie Strode believable. Worth watching? Listen to find out.
