Dream job doesn’t even begin to describe Danielle DiFerdinando’s career. The young fashion designer started the Danielle Nicole brand of handbags as a student and has grown the business through partnerships with retailers like Nordstrom and HSN. In this episode, DiFerdinando talks about the thrill of working on a line of Disney and Harry Potter handbags, being named one of Forbes Magazine’s 30 Under 30 and what drives her creative spirit.

069 || How To Prioritize Your Kids AND Your Dream || Rebekah Scott

Rebekah Scott is a servant of God, wife to Nicholas, mother of four and owner/designer of Rebekah Scott Designs, where you can design your own custom handbags and accessories that Rebekah and her team assemble by hand, here in the U.S. Her mission is to build relationships with women by providing high-quality products with excellent customer service unique to their roles and seasons of life.

Rebekah has loved sewing since she was four years old, kneeling next to her mom and begging to cut some scraps of fabrics to create something on her own. She started Rebekah Scott Designs in 2003 because she wanted to have children and be able to stay at home to raise them by her side. She loves what she has grown over these years through her business, and her four little ones continue to inspire her, put smiles on her heart, and remind her of the reason behind it all.

In this interview, Rebekah talks about how she works through her fears about growing her business, the two values she prioritizes and how they help her make decisions, and finally, what it took to begin to outsource and grow her dream so she can do what she loves and delegate the rest.

I’m amazed at all that Rebekah has been able to accomplish since starting her business in 2003, and I hope that hearing from her will be an encouragement to you in whatever dream God has placed on your heart.

Case Study: A Handbag Designer's Lucky Break

Case Study: A Handbag Designer's Lucky Break

In this episode of the Fashion Brain podcast, we talk about the down-an-dirty reality of running a fashion business.

My guest is Maria Boustead, designer and founder of Po Campo. Maria designs bags that are functional and cute and she loves what she does. She shares her story about the things she wasn’t prepared for, her lucky break that turned into her worst nightmare, how her business strategy has changed, and stepping off the cliff.

She is SO HONEST in this interview – it is tremendous of her to share the real deal. No BS and no sugar coating. You are going to LOVE it! She is one of my favorite designers on the planet.

This is amazing advice for any entrepreneur, maker, or fashion designer who is looking for their lucky break.

Aliz International: Licensed Purse Products and Hot Handbag Purchases
Keeping up with fashion is an ongoing process, and retailers are well advised to set aside some time at least every season to stock up on the latest trends in apparel and accessories, including handbags. For retailers to be prepared, their wholesale suppliers such as Aliz International have to put in the leg work, investigating and testing trends for the seasons to come. Working in such a competitive market requires a continual cycle of innovative and new ideas.

Aliz International: Handbags with a High-end Feel at a Good-value Price
On average, women buy three handbags per year, own six (or more over the age of 55), and spend between $40 to $65 on average per handbag purchase, according to StyleCareer.com. One woman can never have too many handbags, at least not according to co-founder of Aliz International, Rosanna Tran. In fact, her collection consists of hundreds of licensed and fashion bags. And for wholesale prices of $20 or less, her collection can be part of your and your customer’s collections.
