41. "Happiest Season": an honest review & thoughts on toxicity
LGBTQ+ representation in films and TV are few and far between. Which is why gays everywhere were pretty excited when they heard that Happiest Season, an LGBTQ+ Christmas movie featuring two gay women, was coming out. No pun intended. But even though we’re excited to have a queer Christmas film, we do have a few opinions on it and wonder if the movie could have better represented a queer couple in 2020.
32. Why’d You Make it Look So Hard?
It’s Beck & Megs, and Beausie graces the girls with his presence this week! The topics vary from Disney villains to more Bade Case of the Ex stories and red flags to look out for when dating. Get ready to laugh those Sunday Scaries away!

‘Happiest Season’ with Jordan Crucchiola
This week we are discussing a film that was basically tailor-made for our podcast. That’s right, we’re talking about the new Christmas classic, Happiest Season. And to dissect the film, we’ve brought on the “happiest podcast guest,” our good pal Jordan Crucchiola. We, of course, have another installment of the “Christmas Zaddy Christmas Movie Minute.” This week it’s exclusively Hallmark movies! And, as always, we’ve got “Staff Picks.”
In news, the world is introduced to Elliot Page and Glenn Close shades Gwyneth Paltrow’s Oscar win from 22 years ago.

Home Alone
Hear those jingle bells in the distance? Jordan and Brooke kick off the holiday season with a very questionable queer reading of 1990’s blockbuster family comedy (without the family). It’s mostly an excuse to discuss favorite traditions, lament the straightness of Christmas movies, and introduce…CANDY BATTLE!

Potential Pick - Happiest Season
Chris and Taylor review the new Hulu holiday romantic comedy "Happiest Season," written by Mary Holland and Clea Duvall and directed by Clea DuVall. Starring Mackenzie Davis and Kristen Stewart as Harper and Abby, when Harper invites Abby to her family's house for Christmas, surprises are in store as the family does not know their daughter is in a relationship nor that she's gay. This delightful comedy with a lot of heart features an all-star ensemble cast including Dan Levy, Aubrey Plaza, Alison Brie, Victor Garber and Mary Steenburgen.

Happiest Season, Lovers Rock, The Twentieth Century, Uncle Frank, Zappa
Not all of us are in love with Clea DuVall’s latest film, Happiest Season, which is a Christmas romantic comedy on Hulu starring Kristen Stewart, Mackenzie Davis, Aubrey Plaza, and many more. Will and Abby take some time to review the latest “Small Axe” film from Steve McQueen on Amazon Prime Video: Lovers Rock. The whole gang joins the fun of The Twentieth Century, Matthew Rankin’s absurdist festival indie that might’ve stolen all our hearts. We also cover our mixed feelings on Alan Ball’s latest film since 2007, Uncle Frank, which boasts strong performances from Paul Bettany, Peter Macdissi, and Sophia Lillis. And last, Jon discusses Zappa, Alex Winter’s eclectic new documentary about the life of the infamous guitarist Frank Zappa.

Geekly 128: Arby's Salty Meat
Hey another episode! We talked about food a lot, since maybe it was a weird news week? Or maybe we were just hungry. At any rate, we also talked about new Netflix movies, game stuff, the new consoles, and some other related pop culture? It was good.
