    Professor Snider shares details about the new class offered for the first time in one of three possible tracks to a AA degree in drama at HCC. Theatre Design DRAM 2335 Students will be learning the fundamentals of design and how to apply them to designing sets, costumes, make-up, props, lights, and sound. Students will also learn how to read a script from a designer's point of view; learn the vocabulary of design in all the various fields; learn about theater as a collaborative art and how to work with other designers and production staff and learn the process of designing.

    Alejandro Donkeeboy Roman Jr | Student Success ART

    Alex Roman Jr. (“Donkeeboy”), a visual artist based in Houston, is a remixer of pop culture. He puts his own unique spin on famous icons, creating works of art that consist of double entendre and visual puns. He is a former HCC art student. In recent years, Donkeeboy has become one of Houston’s most prominent artists. His murals can be found at iconic Houston restaurants including Shipley Do-Nuts, Burns Original BBQ, Riel and The Original Ninfa’s. He is the resident artist at 8th Wonder Brewery, where he hosts free art shows five times per year highlighting other local artists.

    An exhibition of artworks from Visual Arts students enrolled in advanced sections of studio art courses from the Spring Branch, Alief-Hayes Road, and Katy campuses.

    Juror Michelle O'Michael, well known for her monumental steel sculptures, will select the outstanding student piece in the categories of Painting, Drawing and Art. The professors will, by consensus, choose student art for Faculty Awards and Honorable Mentions.

    Cosmic Garden | Celan Bouillet Exhibition
    Celan Bouillet is a mixed media artist currently based in Houston, Texas. Inspired by travel, textiles and our relationship to place, Bouillet creates paintings with complex narratives and dense patterns. Bouillet received her BA in English and BFA in Painting from the University of Georgia and her MFA from the Maryland Institute College of Art in 2013.  She has received numerous awards and honors including the 2014 Artist-in-Residence at HCC SE and a 2017 New Texas Talent.
