Red Rocks Community College Police Chief Sean Dugan was part of the SWAT response force on the ground during the Columbine High School massacre on April 20, 1999. Thursday commemorated 24 years since the horrific mass murder event. He joins Dan to discuss his experience and reaction to recent school shootings at Denver East High School and at a Nashville Christian school.

Councilwoman Amanda Sandoval joins Dan after Denver Public Schools superintendent Dr. Alex Marrero was a no-show at a scheduled city council meeting to discuss school safety after the latest shooting at Denver East High. She called Marrero's absence 'beyond insulting' and added 'to say I am disappointed is an understatement. Also, Dan and Ryan discuss the downfall of a great city of Chicago and why Denver may fortunately avoid a similar fate.

Jim Collier was part of the response unit on the day of the Columbine High School shooting on April 20, 1999. He joins Dan live in-studio for the full hour, in the wake of another high school shooting in Nashville.

Over a span of just 45 days, two shootings at Denver East High School have left parents, students, and faculty in the Denver Public Schools angry and on-edge. With two administrators shot and hospitalized by a troubled student who was subject to daily searches before entering the school, Dan wonders aloud why Student Resource Officers (SROs) were run out by the school board in the first place. Denver mayoral candidate Andy Rougeot vows to bring SROs back into schools, and Denver Police Chief Ron Thomas says his officers are at the ready to help - if asked to return.

Dan reflects on a Fox 31 news report describing a walkout of Denver East High School students following the death of a classmate three weeks after he was shot on the grounds. Also, the Ramsey house in Boulder where JonBenet was murdered is on the market for around $7 million. Would you live in the house even if they paid you to do so?

In an unprecedented show of religious bigotry by the editorial board of a major American newspaper, the Denver Post calls on the Colorado High School Activities Association to prohibit participation by parochial schools because of their policy regarding transgender students. Dan fires back by saying the publication is asking these schools to go against their religious teachings and deeply held beliefs.
