    ISR #52- Valparaiso University Women’s Volleyball Head Coach - Carin Avery - Inside Women’s Volleyball Recruiting

    In this episode, we talked with Women’s Volleyball Head Coach Carin Avery;

    Carin Avery took over the Valpo volleyball program in July 2002 and immediately began a run of unprecedented success on the court. Valpo won at least 20 matches in each of Avery's first 14 seasons at the helm of the program - one of just nine programs nationwide to reach 20 or more wins in each of those seasons. Entering her 23rd season overall as a head coach and her 21st season at Valpo in the fall of 2022, Avery owns 504 career victories.

    Last season was just another chapter in the legacy of success that Avery has had as head coach of the Valpo volleyball program. The winningest coach in program history, Avery completed the fall 2021 season with a 449-217 (.674) record in her tenure as Valpo head coach, as well as a 504-241 (.677) record overall. Her teams have won 20 or more matches 16 times under her tutelage, including 10 seasons of 25 or more victories. Under Avery, Valpo has won three conference regular season titles, advanced to seven conference tournament title matches, and won three conference tournament championships. The program has made five postseason appearances in her tenure — three NCAA Tournaments and two NIVC berths.

    ISR #47- Florida Atlantic University Baseball Head Coach - John McCormack - Inside Baseball Recruiting

    In this episode, we talked with Head Coach John McCormack;

    Coach McCormack completed his 13th year atop Florida Atlantic University baseball as head coach in 2021, and 31st season with the program. He had previously served 11 years as associate head coach and seven years as an assistant coach, beginning in 1991.

    In 2021, the Owls finished with 32 victories and a third-place finish in the C-USA East Division. The season started off with the team winning seven of their first eight, including a road win over then-No. 6 Florida at the Gators' brand-new ballpark. At that point, many publications had the team ranked. A couple of stumbles ended non-conference play, but the opening Conference USA weekend was a four-game sweep of Marshall at home.

    C-USA would end up being one of the better conferences in the country, with four eventual NCAA regional invites. The Owls would split or win the final five league sets outright, including against No. 19 Southern Miss (followed by a road midweek win at Miami) to cap the regular season, finishing third in the division and earn the league's No. 5 seed. In Ruston at the C-USA Championship, three of the four games came against ranked foes, including a win over No. 16 Charlotte to eliminate the league's regular season champions.

    When considering athletics scholarships, you need to examine three primary organizations. The three primary avenues for athletics scholarships are through the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), and the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA). Within these organizations, there are further divisions based on the size of the institution. All of these organizations combine education and athletics to deliver the experience of a lifetime to the committed student-athletes playing and studying under this umbrella
