Three Quarters of The Salmon of Doubt

Three Quarters of The Salmon of Doubt

The Salmon of Doubt is the title of the unfinished third Dirk Gently novel or the Sixth Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy novel depending on who you talk to and when you talk to them. It is also the title of a curated collection of writings published after the death of Douglas Adams. The aforementioned Salmon of Doubt is contained in this volume. We will not be discussing it. We are going to talk about most everything else in the book except it. But do not fear. We will circle back to it in a few episodes.

Jeff and Bryan discuss Hexagonal Phase, the sixth installment of the BBC radio series. This one is based off the book ...And Another Thing by Eoin Colfer. Jeff and Bryan both agreed that this story benefitted greatly from a severe abridgement. They also give all the credit to the writer who adapted this story for radio.

Russ and Mark are in a celebratory mood - not only have they made it to 30 episodes, but it is also by pure coincidence the 30th anniversary of the World Wide Web. Luckily for those of you confused by this new fangled internet thing, Tomorrow's World have put together a "Webwise Special" explaining everything you need to know about the information superhighway. So strap on your surfboard and get stuck in as Philippa Forrester and Peter Snow welcome us to the digital future, with the help of Craig Doyle, Lindsey Fallow, Sir Steve Redgrave and Douglas Adams.

ACHTUNG: This episode also features a not inconsiderable amount of Hale and Pace. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

A Little More and a Little Less at the Same Time

Jeff and Bryan discuss Quintessential Phase, the fifth installment of the BBC radio series. This one is based off the book Mostly Harmless. Unlike the first two radio series, which were original productions, this one, like the third and fourth, is adapted from the existing material. Jeff and Bryan will discuss and debate this adaptation... until the end where they had to hit pause and digest what they just heard.
